Give him the benefit of doubt.  I'm sure Yurcich can tell in practice if Cliffs head is in the right place.  If he looks focused, start him until he proves otherwise.  Don't hesitate to pull him if he isn't getting the job done.

I would have no problem with him being benched if that is what's called for; by the 5th year for 99% of collegiate QBs, there is no more upside. And if by the 5th year a coaching staff doesn't have a QB who can step in and get it going, well, I'd be at a lost for kind words!

I believe Clifford will get it done this year. First team all BIG just wait and see. Remoh will be bragging on him.

Last season Clifford was dominating before he got hurt in the Iowa game. I think he will be fine.
