After hearing a few things today we might need to bring Switzer in as a football consultant. I know We gotta give the man a chance but if both our QB’s had injuries and the backup QB right now might not be ready when the season starts and we let Grunk walk that’s a big fudge up on MC. Penn St has to put more emphasis on winning and ain’t nobody better at doing that than the great Barry Switzer even at the age of 88 the man still loves to win and he will do anything to win “I’m a football coach not a babysitter”😂 between hearing this shit and the shit show James Franklin had going on with DA I just don’t believe we’re putting enough emphasis on winning in football. I bout shit in my pants when I heard the backup QB might not be ready when the season starts. Just win baby…means just that. I was all for letting Grunk walk if the 2 QB’s we were getting was ready to play and we missed on the QB we were after on top of all this. In football tough decisions have to be made and Terry smith is a perfect example. Terry did good but if he would’ve fired Jim Knowles we would’ve beat Iowa and Indiana and looking at it today MC should’ve left the QB’s at Iowa St and kept a healthy Grunkemeyer. Yes I’ve changed my mind and if our QB’s are ready when the season starts I’ll change it again. When 2 QB’s are hurt this bad you don’t take a chance imo. I’m not down on MC I’m just disappointed about hearing the QB situation. I gotta give the man a chance though.

@cohappy we ain’t rebuilding this year cohappy. We brought in some very good football players from Iowa St players most teams out there would kill for. MC has combined 2 teams with a lot of studs. MC is in great shape as long as we have a healthy good QB and we had one with Grunkemeyer. I wouldn’t have taken a chance and kept Grunk but I was ok knowing we were getting an experienced QB and a very good backup but what good is having 2 QB’s if they can’t play. I’m hoping the dude on locked on PSU is wrong. IMO we’re not rebuilding we actually reloaded.

Also, I've seen the projection that 6 of our starters on Offense will be ISU starters from last year along with the ISU OC. I'm more than a little concerned since that crew finished 11th in the Big 12 in scoring! Maybe the B1G defenses will be easier to score against, LOL!!

We aren’t the 6th best class in the country and anyone the follows recruiting knows it. Keep landing the type of players we’ve been and we’ll finish around #20.
@roaminglion I believe Grunk would’ve stayed had he been told it’s his team if he’s the best QB on the team. Switzer won a super bowl his 2nd year at Dallas and the team just got old. That dude Switzer loved to win and I’m saying get him out to happy valley and rub shoulders with him 😂 you’ll get the itch to want to win just being around Switzer. Didi you see Switzer on the field at Oklahoma last year before the game during the playoffs roam? Man he was excited and all smiles from ear to ear lol
@rip if Betch can stay healthy i believe we have a chance to go the playoffs but im worried if he gets hurt especially if the backup QB won’t be ready and he’s the future of the team. I did hear the guy say the transfer portal QB was pretty good but he come from Div3

I truly believe if they wanted to keep him, all they had to do was "pay the man" and assure him he had a fair shot at the starting QB job and could earn it by his performance.

Basically they all said Switzer was so lax and hands off that they team lost all dicipline. As I said... Aikman despised him for it.
@roaminglion And Chan Gaily got fired to after 2 seasons. They got old Roam teams usually have that 5 or 6 years window then it’s done. JJ did build the team but Switzer was still the head coach and he got a Super Bowl not many coaches accomplish that. I’ll admit I’m biased towards Switzer because I love the guy and his desire to win. He recruited Aikman and sent him to UCLA because he saw he was a bad fit at Oklahoma. I believe I’m right on him sending Aikman to UCLA it’s been a while 😂

@roaminglion very true but he got to old. It’s not easy replacing QB’s in the NFL. Very few have had the run Brady and Belichick had.

@roaminglion I am curious as to how much he is getting at Virginia Tech...It is a fact that he only started 5 games but I saw a great deal of improvement in those 5 games and I also saw a young player who was gaining confidence as well...I saw enough in those 5 games to want that kid on my team...As far as me thinking these kids are money hungry whores I view it as a kid having a small window of time to make life changing money...So yes I see the majority of these kids going to the highest bidder especially when we are talking big time football programs...I personally don't think Penn State wanted the kid for whatever reason because if they did he would still be here...
