@rip like Kularrow said earlier in the week, blue blood vs blue blood…we didn’t get it done again. This loss stinks like pure shit because we had the better team we just stunk up the field at QB and James Franklin let Pribula walk. This might be the most heart breaking loss I’ve watched. This loss sucks man plus it’s ND..smh
@southern-psu-fan I think this loss could have a major impact on the programs recruiting and be felt for years. The next couple days will also be interesting to hear who’s staying and who’s going.

Bottom line is that you've got to be able and willing to bench a 5 star if it means it gives the team a better chance to succeed. Sometimes camps and practice doesn't translate to real-time game performance.
@psu61 was Allar really a 5star? He was a 3 star and only started getting publicity and hype when we offered him and then magically ascended and became a 5 star but he sure as hell doesn’t play like one. He’s from Ohio and OSU and a lot of other major programs never even recruited the guy.
Thanks for the info on the line, Joe. Now I feel worse about the loss seeing we were favored! LOL!!
@southern-psu-fan I actually think with the way Allen played in the playoffs he’ll be leaving. Allen was the better in the playoffs IMO and did all he needed to do to prove himself NFL ready.
@psujoe reminds me of the great Tony Hunt. He’s a dam good college football RB but it might take him an extra second to get going and in the NFL that’s the difference of making it and not making it. Tony Hunt was a freaking stud for us one of the best we’ve ever had. We will see I’m pulling for him whatever decision he makes.
Adding insult to injury, we are watching OSU/TX and they have to remind us that we had 1st and goal on the 3 against OSU and didn't score...
Right before OSU Scoops and scores to seal the game.
Amazing how we went from, "Franklin Needs to make the playoffs else he's failed again" to "If Franklin loses at home to SMU he's failed again" to "If Franklin loses to a 4 seed Boisie St he's failed again" to "he lost in the semi-finals so obviously he's failed yet again". Gotta love the constant moving of the goal-posts.
@roaminglion ain’t nothing wrong with being satisfied where the football team is today and there’s nothing wrong with not being satisfied where the football team is today. I ain’t satisfied with just beating teams like Bose St and Illinois but if you are that’s ok too.
FWIW, Franklin was aggressive the B10 championship game throughout. I do think the program turned a page. Previous teams may have lost one of those games. Two playoff wins against ranked opponents are great victories. We could have easily beat ND, things just didn’t work out but it took a last second FG. I’m not saying we’ll be back next year but it’s a starting point to build off of, Michigan turned a TCU loss in the same semifinal into a Natty. The elephant in the room is the WR situation. This needs all hands on Blitz and cleanse, starting with Hagans. The right guy means the world, look at what Hartline has done at OSU. We are all emotional, we lost the biggest game of my lifetime and 8 hours later my wife gave birth to our first child, a boy. I felt the lowest low then the highest high. Penn State can be a contender, idk what it’s going to take but the potential is there.
@kularrow congratulations on the baby brother!
There is a difference between not being satisfied, and saying fire Franklin and/or that he can't win big games because you want to discount beating 2 top 10 teams because they "weren't really top 10" due to their name on their chest.@roaminglion ain’t nothing wrong with being satisfied where the football team is today and there’s nothing wrong with not being satisfied where the football team is today. I ain’t satisfied with just beating teams like Bose St and Illinois but if you are that’s ok too.
I’m still not sold on JF but this loss is 100 percent on the play of Allar. He was terrible and this is the kind of game he may never recover from. The kid played bad the entire playoffs and if I was JF I’d be shopping for an experienced QB in the portal.
@roaminglion I give the team credit for beating SMU and Boise State but it’s still 2 good wins against good lightweight teams…nothing more. Georgia beat Tennessee, Texas 2 times. ND beat Penn St and Georgia. Ohio St beat Penn State, Oregon and Tennessee. Oregon beat Ohio St and Penn St. these are heavyweights Roam our best wins are against SMU and Boise St. there’s nothing wrong if that gets you excited but imo it’s games we should win.
Yeah, this team sucks. They only got further than 130 FBS teams did. 1 other team got to where PSU did and 2 teams did better. We should put the whole team in the transfer portal and start all over again. For those of you who do not possess the ability to recognize sarcasm, this post so far was heavy sarcasm.
It appears to me that many posters on this site only come here to complain. When we win it is usually a day or two before any new posts are made but when we lose the posts start about a half hour after game time. I think WE ALL owe this team a thank you for the job they did this year. It wasn't the best job they could have done, but it was a fine season. Luckily I doubt any of the players see this site.
@psugrad81 Yeah! Go all "Prime" on the team! On the plus side, Durant is coming back.
Yes, a semi on target Allar would have been the difference in the game.
I do believe that virtually all players at the FBS level do get participation trophies. I think they are called scholarships.

I think I was the first person on this forum to hype the kid when he was a freshman after sitting in the Beav and watching him make some ridiculous throws. He was confident, cocky and not afraid to trust his god given abilities. Today he’s a shell of his former self and just another highly touted QB coming through our system that either regresses or gets minimal development.
