We gotta get another QB hopefully Gronkmeyer can get it done. 0-6 man the QB is killing us. I’m not satisfied  beating iowa and teams like SMU I want to beat the heavyweights. Coming out from the sanctions i was satisfied getting every win we got but the sanctions are over. 3-11 on 3rd downs and 135 yards smh. Backup QB’s outplay DA. He kills the defense with all the 3 and outs and he kills momentum turning the ball over. I’m ready for another QB. Y’all can keep waiting but One thing I do know, You keep doing the same shit, you get the same shit. We win this game tonight if Pribula plays. We let the better QB walk. DA was a disaster in these playoffs he didn’t play good in one game all the other QB’s were better.

Last week SMU and Boise were big wins, now all of a sudden it's not again

He was actually good in the Boise game.  He had numerous perfect passes to receivers that were tightly covered and did not catch the ball.  Even TW dropped one or two.

Tonight he was poor, I have not reviewed our receivers by I suspect they were brutalized similarly to our rush ends.  When DA did throw to a receiver they had someone draped over them.  I think the progression is TW, TW, uh oh.  Or Receiver for half a second, TW.  We could have worn out the LB's with TW and RB's if they were holding our receivers.  Even up 10 he was not comfortable.  The touch passes, read rainbows, he threw into the end zone were scary.  He missed a wide open Allen on a wheel Route.  DA claims the INT was working thru his progression and he tried to throw the ball low.  Interpret that as I was high by 3-6', so even if you say it was execution not a mental mistake it was very bad.  It was game time but still 1st down.

I can complain about the refereeing but it seems to me that if they are not going to call holding on receivers then we should have been tighter on receivers.  If they are not going to call holding on our rush ends then we adjust by blitzing a LB up the middle ad drop our rush end like we did on the one INT.  But I guess our MLB was often the spy.  If they are going to blanket TW then gee wiz, can't TW pick a receiver open all game?  I mean there has to be some legitimate explanation for our receivers not catching a pass?  They didn't ask JF that rude question.

They were stacking the box against the run on our left, we had to have man to man and yet no good passes to receivers.  We know TW was covered by someone and ND does not have superstar DB's.  Unfathomable, the ND DB's must be the game MVP's.

Good year, three close losses but gee wiz DA and JF, it seems again like they were the three BIG games.  The wins were teams in my 8 and below rankings and the losses 7 and above.  So we were 7 and above and in the top 6.  Good year when viewed from the start of the year.  Disappointing IMO when you look at the path we had.  ND was the best team of Boise and SMU and I think we should have beat them.

Southern, I don't think Pribula would have faired any better but it would have been nice to have him.  And since an L is an L he couldn't do worse.

We played OSU, OR, and ND tight but again an L is an L.  Ultimately those three teams and PSU were the cream this year.

I think DA has a bit of a mental block.  He had no reason to look uncomfortable tonight and yet he did.  It did not feel like 'Give me the ball boys, I'll make the shot'.  I think it was Southern that said we need a Drew McGloin?  JF told us this is only his second year and his progression is good but this feels like an opportunity blown and had he executed tonight everyone else would be good.  Beating OSU was still a stretch but sometimes the poorer team wins....like tonight.

@roaminglion like I said Roam, they were good wins and if we beat ND they would be better wins. We didn’t beat ND so now they’re just wins against SMU and Boise State that’s the way people see it. The team beat SMU and Boise State DA played like shit in both them games and really played like shit last night. He gets outplayed back backups roam we gotta get another QB if you want to beat the heavyweights baby. I wish I could see what you see but I don’t 😂 we beat ND last night easy with good QB play. That loss last night is a disaster for this team.

@underlion  the Boise Stste QB out played DA throwing the ball all over the field is what I saw. Boise St is a good lightweight team and we can beat them with #44 playing QB.

I did predict a loss to SMU but still am not sure  I’d call the win vs them and Boise big wins.Let’s face it with the way Allar played the entire playoffs we wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for our lucky draw.

College football needs a new transfer portal. This one needs to be for the fair weather fans. Please transfer to another team.

Got your point 81, Big picture I am happy but that game was heartbreaking.  That being said we are not a lot different from every other fan group.  Actually I think we are better because of a lingering JoePa culture.  But times are a changing.

It was a great game with a rough ending for PSU. You are right that PSU fans are not much different from other team's "fans". My guess would be that 86% of fans of all teams are fair weather fans. As I used to say they are behind their team win or tie. Of course ties are no longer possible.

How objective.

"They were big wins up until we lost and now I will say they were not big wins because it fits my narrative"

@roaminglion i never have cared about a narrative or being right, i care about winning and I’ve never said anything different. Just win! How many coaches are going to be fired and how many WR’s are we going to run off before it’s figured out that the QB is the issue?

IMO, we lost the better QB for our team to the portal.  Pribula didn't have all the stars, the physical attributes or the golden arm, but he had the intangible "IT".

Allar may be the better QB on paper, but I think Pribula gave us a better shot at winning.  I'm sure I'll get a lot of flack, but this is my gut feeling. I've seen what a McGloin & a Trace could do.

You literally stated that the Boise and SMU games weren't good anymore because we lost to ND. - "We didn’t beat ND so now they’re just wins against SMU and Boise State"

This is what I said  Roam. No such thing as a bad win. All wins are good but some are bigger wins like winning last night would’ve been a huge win. The 0-6 record is against teams apples to apples. Look at the perception of the playoffs now that we lost last night…we beat 2 teams we should’ve beat and lost the big game.

"Perception" just means it's being looked at subjectively and not objectively.

That's exactly correct, Southern.  It is what it is.  We won 2 games we were favored to win and lost the one we were a slight dog in.  Unfortunately the one we lost was the big one that cost us the chance to play in the championship game.

@rip RIP, I know DA is out on the field giving everything he has to get the win he’s just not good enough to beat the heavyweights and 0-6 proves it. This is big boy football I'm just giving my opinion on what needs to be done to beat the heavyweights and imo we gotta get better at QB and LB’r. I believe it was a huge mistake letting Pribula walk. I can’t prove anything but i believe he walked because he knew he wasn’t going to get a fighting chance to be the starting QB…it’s also what I see and this ain’t the first time I’ve seen this happen.

I heard on the radio on the way from work it flipped and  we were one point favorites at kickoff. Not sure if it’s true or  not

Absolutely, Southern.  Pribula knew Franklin is all in on Allar and when Allar said he was coming back, Pribula had no choice.  Wish him well, but it's a shame the portal system is such that he couldn't stay with the team for the playoff run.  We sure could have used him against the Domers!

Could be, but the line I saw Thursday morning showed ND favored by 1 1/2 pts.

Notre Dame had been listed as a narrow favorite over the Nittany Lions throughout the week leading up to tonight's College Football Playoff semifinal matchup. But just before kickoff, the betting line suddenly shifted in favor of Penn State.

The Nittany Lions are now listed as a 1.5-point favorite over the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame had been listed as a 1.5-point favorite for much of the week, marking a sudden three-point swing.
