Well, it will be conference opponents only. It's good to hear we get to see some football. Let's just hope it doesn't get worse. Keep our hopes up.
I’ll take 9 games but why not play the other 3? More tv money, right?
I guess it's just kicking the can down the road so to speak. Since most non-conf games are at the beginning of the season, it's a way of delaying the season openers hoping things improve. In the Lions case, the first game is pushed back from Sept 5th to Sept 26th when Northwestern comes to town. I'm with you Southern, I'll take whatever games we can get!
Would be better if 12 conference opponents. Play the full circuit minus one.
Well I guess Kent State isn't going to be a "full stadium".
My VTech fans are disappointed...but they shouldn't be 😀
ND only had one B10 game scheduled but if other conferences do the same...
I had a hunch this was coming from talking with some of friends up in Happy Valley. I think somewhere along the line it was mentioned in a news article last month. It has to be to extend the start date as you are stating....I just can't see any other reasoning. I have to believe the next several announcements will be:
1) Only season ticket holders permitted. Tickets haven't been printed, so don't be surprised that the tickets will NOT be transferable to a third party. Use them or lose them! Probably need an ID with your ticket to get in.
2) Conference Championship games will remain
3) 8 team playoff and no other bowl games. I would say 12, but they will want to get the season over as quickly as possible.
With that said, the Lion's will be in the playoffs and in the hunt!!!
GO STATE!!
@mtnittanylion...You're getting your hopes up needlessly; barring a miracle, this is just he beginning of the inevitable death march to cancellation of the season..
Oh, I think it is a long shot for College football, but I am not throwing the towel in quite yet. I looked at different options, thought it through and I just don't think they can make it happen unless they go with NO fans. But even more than this, how do you keep every player from every team from getting the virus? If one gets it, what are they going to do? Test every player on the team? What if one player tests positive on a Friday? They going to allow the rest to play that Saturday with out being tested?
I am hoping for the Spring. I think this will be the best chance for them unless they have some quarantine idea for the players that would keep them away from others for the season.
Good gosh! What a mess we have on our hands!
Another crazy thought in a crazy time: Play every team in your division twice. Home & home. Cuts down on travel. Long bus rides for sure but what the heck, they are young. Like the name of a John Prine song, "It's a Big Old Goofy World".
CT my man where you been brother? Glad to see you’re ok we haven’t heard from you in a while. You better bring your thick skin in here especially if you bring the ND stuff lol
This is the perfect year to play a 16 team playoff. All conference champs and round it out with the highest ranked teams. It would bring a lot of tv money as well.

Hey you old fart how ya been?? Glad to see you're still above snakes and among the living. Are your fighting Irish working hard to prepare for their one game schedule this year?? Hope the boys dont get sick feasting on all the cupcakes they have scheduled this year!!
Good to have ya back!!
YES,Nittany its a mess If you push to spring, you most certainly must play a reduced schedule; you cant ask student-athletes to play two 12 game seasons devoid of pay..While Ill take it, it too, poses a host of problems..
Hi southern, how ya been , Id normally say Great, I hope, but that's tough in this environment..
I was interested in hearing the views of the guys here re: the state of the country, and college football..Always good input here
Hi Tsuga, how ya been Glad to see you still standing too, and hopefully, no more nasty spills..
Schedule wise, ND will be fine Lost a very attractive game yesterday in Wisc, with the BIg 10 decision..and with the PAC-12 expected to follow suit any day, the USC, Stanford games are likely lost....But putting together a 10 game, even 12 wont be the problem, having any season is the mountain I just don't see college football this fall
Even though the great game of baseball has slipped considerably , I still miss it While it'll be great to have it back, have anything back, their screw ups with testing, stars opting out, and some still uncertain, it faces a rocky road too..

Southern, you know I'm down for that any year.
Coach O is very optimistic we’ll get college football this year. I’m hoping he’s right I just was hoping to play 14 conference games 😁🇺🇸
SPF This'll be the year PSU gets into the National Championship picture, only to have them cancel all bowl games. How's that for good ol' Penn State pessimism?
