Great comments here.  As far as what PSU is doing at homecoming this year, I wonder if they aren't trying to take a preemptive step to avoid what has already gone at other schools, where they have been forced to crown a GUY as homecoming QUEEN, and vice versa.

I’m for diversity and tolerance....I get it. But, isn’t homecoming for the alumni? Like I said before, they (though I don’t know who “they” are) are trying too hard to be progressive.

If homecoming is for the alumni, then why even have a king or queen? As a student, I never paid any attention to who was voted homecoming queen.

As for diversity, I once voted for a gerbil for USG President. It doesn't get more diverse than having another species as your leader.

And we need to change that behavior, teach kids to celebrate differences and not default to beating someone up for it.
