The phrase, "This is my first post." always makes me just a little skeptical.

There has to be a first time for everybody. The post sounds innocent enough. Welcome aboard but if you’ve been reading here long enough you know that PSU haters will not be tolerated.

You're right Lake, if he's truly a first time poster, he's welcome. Unfortunately, niccy likes to start out a new nic with "This is my 1st time posting."

I guess we're on alert when we read "1st time poster here" or something to that effect.  But I'm willing to give a guy a chance.

Thanks to those who welcomed me.   Class of 1975 Smeal College of Business Administration.  Stayed in Pollack Halls.  Just a fan not an expert like Bill Murray or some of the other posters.  Didn't feel comfortable posting on the other website.  BTW Tambi Hali was released by the Chiefs today.

Yup, this a GREAT board, better than Pennlive and we all thank Caven for building it. 99% of the posters here are good people offering interesting and divergent points of view. All are tolerated even if sometimes argued but required to be respectful. I for one glad to see this forum grow. Personally I don’t offer a lot of football analysis because I never played but I appreciate the deep knowledge of others.

If you want to build this website you need to roll out the welcome mat for new members.  After making my first post I was almost immediately insulted.  Even my introduction was critiqued.  Why would anyone want to join?

There are a few people on here that view every new person on here as someone known as "niccy".  There are also some pretty cool people on here too.  MB, Lake, Beenthere, Southern, Navyjag, Tsuga, and Navylion are very amiable and pretty easy going.  There will be one poster on here that insults you no matter what you say.  Just ignore him and pretend he doesnt even exist.

I expected more from you Southern.  Wanted to chat with you about the Falcons.  Followed the team for years since Bill Fralic from my high school played there.  Hoped they would beat the Patriots.  Hate the Patriots.  Does C J Goodwin play there?  He's a great guy and is active in the community.  He speaks at schools.

I am actually  a graduate of Penn State.  You might remember some of the players from my high school who played at Penn State:  Joel Coles, Barry Tielsh (spelling), Lou Biondi, Anthony Morelli (my cousin's son played with him) and Ron Graham.

Also wanted to chat with you about Atlanta.  Been there for the Retail Summit in January and July.  Take the Marta from the airport to town.  Start at the top of each tower and go from showroom to showroom.  Loved Durango's.  Great food at fair prices.  Has anything replaced it?

I have to agree, we need to accept new posters here without pre-judging.  We all started on ground zero. If there are offensive posters then we react then, other than that....welcome all. Also (just my opinion), a little forgiveness to some prior posters wouldn’t hurt either...you know who I’m talking about.... Georgia woof woof
