When I was a child, late 50s, I lived at Evreux Air Force Base in France. This was back when the US still had basese in France. We took a trip to Normandy. I will never forget the cemetery at Normandy. No matter what direction you looked the white crosses lined up and seemed to go on forever. That made an impression on me that I will remember til the day I die.
