@southern-psu-fan  Because Washington is going to be one of the top teams in the conference and we’re playing them in their stadium. I expect to see them in the playoffs and won’t be surprised if they make it to the conference championship game.

Oh wait !! ,,, never mind, I forgot that all west coast teams suck.

@psujoe  Money talks so it really doesn’t matter if it’s the east coast or west coast anymore and I see 4 or 5 losses on Washington schedule. They do have a good QB though.

Keep telling yourself that!! Anything to make you feel better about being proven wrong about southern football.

P.S Indiana doesn’t have more money than Miami or Alabama.

Most NFL players come from the Southern United States, with Texas, Florida, California, and Georgiaconsistently producing the highest number of players. These states, frequently referred to as the "SEC footprint," have the most intense high school football cultures, leading to the highest concentration of talent in the league. Stats don’t lie Homer 😂

Well that is a misleading stat Southern...California and Texas are the 2 biggest states in the country so you would expect them to have the most players in the NFL...Florida is another large state...I am a native Pennsylvanian who lived in Florida and had a son who played high school football in Florida and was a state weightlifting champion there...To say the football culture is more intense there than michigan, ohio or pennsylvania is pure unadulterated bullshit...Those stats are skewed because of the football academies in Florida where many northern football players transfer to those southern schools to be a part of those academies...I haven't researched those statistics regarding where NFL players come from but if you think you have a more intense football culture in Georgia or Florida than they do in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio you are delusional...

@the-funeral-director  I’m not saying Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio Doesn’t have a great football culture I’m saying most of the NFL players come from the south and the stats don’t lie.

Southern states are the primary producers of NFL talent, with states like Texas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama consistently ranking in the top 10 for producing NFL players. While precise total percentages vary by year, data indicates a heavy concentration, with several southern states having the highest number of players per capita in the country. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Top Producing States: As of 2025, top states include Texas (304), Florida (287), and Georgia (221).
  • Per Capita Concentration: Louisiana and Mississippi often produce the highest number of NFL players per 100,000 residents.
  • Regional Impact: While not every player comes from the South, it is the most dominant region, with high school and college football culture being key factors

@southern-psu-fan That was before the soccer moms took control of the school boards and pushed their politically correct soccer movement!

Who gives a shit !! That doesn’t change the fact that northern teams are dominating college football and there’s nothing you southern loudmouths can do about it. This new playoff format is going exactly the way I told you it would 3-4 years before it was implemented.

It sucks when the playing field is leveled and you realize you can’t compete doesn’t it? Ask all your buddies that and tell them Homer says to pound sand.

It’s been obvious to me that southern spends countless hours watching ESPiN and has been brainwashed by them.

So I’ve been told that Borque , Taylor and Sesay are no longer interested in PSU and that before Aiden O’Neil committed to ND he was telling everyone that PSU was his favorite school and that is where he wanted to go.

WTF is going on with our recruiting?

If you put a gun to my head Homer I would say it is the money...I don't think we are putting up the kind of money these other schools are...

We play in the best college football conference in the country and we don’t have the best coach or the best assistants so the Iowa State philosophy isn’t gonna fly and letting the best players in the region leave to play elsewhere is going to bite us in the rear. It all might work in a conference like the ACC but it ain’t working in the B1G. And the last time I read about it we were a top 8 school for NIL so how the heck does ND outbid us in every head to head recruiting battle?

I listen to Sayko once in a while and all it seems that he does lately is make excuses and hype every 3 star player we sign as underrated or a diamond in the rough. The way he talks makes it sound like we have the best class in the country and I’m not buying it.

It’s MC first recruiting class let’s see how we end up. I’ve heard 2 or 3 recruiting dudes says it’s a dang good class considering we didn’t have not one commit when he got here and he got here late. That dude Brian smith said it’s a very good class but we do need to land a few more big time studs. IMO go get in the playoffs this year and we’ll have guys jumping ship and getting on the Penn St train but we also got to come up with money to get these big time players. I gotta find a way to chip in my part. Gotta help if you want to win. Lol

@southern-psu-fan I’m sure that anyone that looks at the recruiting rankings sees the only reason we’re in the top ten is because of quantity not quality. If you look at quality only we’re probably around #20 which is about where I expect this class to end up. I’m telling ya, we’re gonna regret not going harder at a lot of these top regional guys.

Honestly who gives a chit. I really mean that, this isn't 2010. It's 2026, and signing big HS recruiting classes isn't nearly the big deal it used to be. Unless they are playing as a freshman, good luck keeping them anyway.

You can also clean up in the portal the next year if you miss on some positions from the HS cless.

I'd rather save NIL money for proven players out of the portal. IMO. I'd also rather wait until the end of the year, after most of these kids have changed their minds 17 times before complaining about no recruits.

Bottom line, if we're 11-1 or 10-2 and other good teams chit the bed this year, you can bet those players will be decommiting

If we had done anything significant other than sign guys from a middle of the pack Big12 team during the last portal period I’d subscribe to that theory too. But we didn’t so I don’t.

Cignetti did it with kids from a team that was in the FCS in 2022... so I do.

Teams like Iowa St have very good football players you can see that when they play the heavyweights because teams like Iowa St hang tough the first half but as the games go on late in the 3rd quarter they get tired because teams like Iowa St don’t have the depth to keep plugging guys in and out. That’s most of the difference between the lightweight and heavyweight teams. The heavyweights use to be 2 and 3 deep but not anymore with NIL and the transfer portal that’s leveled the playing ground to more teams. It’s a mini NFL league with no salary cap. This years Penn St teams is loaded probably the best team we’ve had since 09 just wait and see baby…I’m feeling real good about this year baby! 😁🇺🇸
