What makes all these recruiting losses even worse IMO is that we were told we were going to go big in recruiting this year and we were also supposed to have a class of 35 players. Now we’re seeing loss after loss in recruiting, decommits and a class that will need a miracle to even reach 25. Filling this class with 3 star “hidden gems” isn’t gonna cut it. We’re already thin and lacking depth at a lot of positions and unless something changes and we hit the portal hard this offseason (which I doubt) 2027 is going to be rough.

If we don’t have good recruiting classes we won’t have a good foundation. That RB we just lost was ready to play right away big time stud. Big loss no way to sugar coat it.

A bit frustrating, but at the end of the day, I try not to get too excited about things I have no control over, not good for my blood pressure.

@been-there-ii the good thing is we are stacked at RB but losing a kid to Rutgers ain’t good especially if it’s about money. We good we just gotta win this year and I mean win big 9-3 ain’t good enough. I’m still at 11-1 baby regular season.

@southern-psu-fan He may or may not have seen the field at PSU this year. Rutgers, he stands a fair chance. & then he can peddle his ass on the street next season. Sounds like college football business as it is today.

Honestly not surprising... better for big recruits to go where they have a big chance to play, and transfer after a year for big NIL money.

RB Loss to Rutgers, I would suppose it is NIL$ and our depth at running back.  80/20?  It is not SH_T Stadium.

Need Pegula to give some NIL $.  His daughter lost to American Coco Grauf in the quarters at Wimbledon.

We have a big fan base and alumni.  We are the big dog in a huge market (NE), a lot of professional sports but we are the biggest player in the market.  Go get the NIL$ until they fix the system.

I hope Campbell makes a push for a better non conference schedule. We’re gonna hear about how pathetic ours is this season and other teams  + ESPiN will be using it as propaganda against us if we’re being considered for the playoff.

@psujoe the scheduling is on James Franklin but I agree 100% we gotta do better on our OOC games even Wisconsin plays tougher games than we do. Ours is so bad I’m for playing 11 big 10 games and one gimme game.

@been-there-ii  yes sir my brother and we light that scoreboard up even if it’s with the backups. We hit the goldmine getting Iowa St top 25 players adding them to the James Franklin studs is a huge gift. This team is stacked brother just wait and see. 11-1 playing in the big 10 championship game with a great chance to win is my prediction. The bottom line is the QB and winning big games shit is gone and that’s what was holding us back.

I'm sure the coach has some input into OOC opponents, but that's probably on the athletic directors plate.

Love your enthusiasm bro! I'm optimistic, but waiting to see what PSU product hits the field. lol And if the coaches can actually coach better than I can....or think I could, as in, seeing a play and thinking, WTF!, did they call that?

@been-there-ii  I believe we’re going the Indiana route and the Iowa St players are much better than the James Madison players and we seen what Indiana was able to do. Rocco is the key player

I’m not overly concerned about the decommits nor the lack of top pa kids yet. Right now it’s all about the money. These kids are not going to VA, WVA, auburn, neb, etc to win championships, it will likely never happen nor will they probably make the playoffs. I think MC has a plan and he is sticking to it and not getting caught up in the current money mess. I also believe that the portal will be big for PS this year.  Don’t fret the sky is not falling.
this year they could be as good as 11-1, but if the loss is to UM, they likely will not make the playoffs, SoS is going to be a major factor.

11-1 with the only loss to Meatchicken would result in a 100 percent guaranteed playoff spot.  10-2 with losses to Meatchicken and Washington and we’re on the bubble. 9-3 is a disaster with this schedule and zero chance of making it in.

Not going to argue with you, but I think Ohio State, ind, Oregon, and UM would be in even with a 11-1 record. The committee will not put 5 B1G teams in, sorry and unfair as it might be, we likely will be out looking in.

Who gives a Chit. Indiana heard how bad their schedule was for 2 years and they made the playoffs twice and won it last year.

Didn't hurt them at all. CFP Committee has shown every year that record means more than schedule.
