Lacrosse,  lol. I don't know anyone outside of this forum that follows it other than a few boneheads here. Your football program is mediocre,  2nd tier at best.  Let's focus on the the most popular sport, AKA FOOTBALL before we fling mud.

So to focus on that what does Rutgers football need to do to get out of the 4.8 wins they have been averaging since 1991?  I'm thinking they need to go back to independent or try Conference USA.

Exactly right FD football is in trouble because mommies little baby boy might get hurt. I bet more kids get hurt riding bicycle’s than playing football but the left is wanting to take the male  out of our boys because they really don’t know if they are boys, they might be girls stuck in a boys body. Heck even penn st couldn’t decide rather the home coming king was a male or not lol. Did penn st ever go through with that home coming thing last year? I remember Murray being upset about it as were some others.

C’mon Southern. Don’t make a simple conversation political. You are better than that. As I’ve said before, the easiest way to divide this board and ruin it is to get political. It isn’t a left vs right decision. It’s a decision people are now making based on research and education

I don't think anyone is trying to make this a political issue.  Today's generation (millenials?) just has different ideas such as participation trophies, safe spaces, entitlement, etc.  Unfortunately, football is seen as being politically incorrect.  It is what it is.  We ain't gonna change it.  Between this culture and the NCAA's mismanagement (e.g. unlimited transfers with immediate elligibility) the handwriting is on the wall.  College football as we know and love it won't be around much longer.

Pipe you are wrong again....American Football as a sport is in trouble...Many high schools are dropping it due to head injury concerns and insurance costs...The participation numbers of athletes playing American Football are dropping fast...Soccer and Lacrosse are 2 sports on the rise...Even baseball numbers aren't what they used to be...The truth be told the sport (if you want to call it that) that is on the rise is eSports...These young people are more into video games than they are into the sports that we played as kids....

You need to realize that soccer has a high rate of concussions... If I remember correctly girls soccer has a higher rate of concussion than football.   What we see is a group of people that want to ignore concussion in one sport but use it to justify trying to remove another.

18 and under shows a higher rate with girls soccer, Rugby, Ice Hockey, followed by Football.

When you describe a group as left or right then it is political. It has no place here. It will ruin this board and Caven should not tolerate it. This is a sports message board intended to discuss sports.

You are absolutely correct Southern.  Football is under attack by the soccer mom's who are taking more and more local school board seats as well as the influx of Hispanic immigrants (both legal & illegal) who tend to prefer soccer as their sport of choice.

And I don’t think immigrants are ruining football. That’s a stretch. That sounds like something from the Sean Hannity show. If that was the case, then we would have never invented football, because we are all immigrants. Football is having a decline in participation  due to a more educated population that realizes when you get your head hit repeatedly, either directly or indirectly, your brain suffers long term effects. Other sports can have similar effects, football is just the poster child for it because of the popularity of the sport. As others have said, soccer has been shown to have just as many concussion related issues, if not more, than football.

Sorry 99 I didn’t mean to sound political I meant as bob said. I’m a registered Democrat but that don’t mean I always vote Democrat so I’m not picking on Democrats I’m just pointing out that’s it’s the left that is attacking football but that’s just my opinion on the way i see things. I just feel because football is a tough manly sport some folks just don’t like it and want to do away with it. BTW if it was political my man mb337 would already been in here chapping my butt lol

Fair enough. No hard feelings. I’m just trying to keep us all pulling in the same direction. The PSU sports fan direction. I’m all for friendly, intelligent conversation, but sometimes it’s hard to distinguish people’s intentions when they are typing things. Texts, e-mails etc can be misconstrued sometimes.

99, please read my post again.  I didn't say immigrants are ruining football.  I merely stated my opinion that Hispanic immigrants tend to prefer soccer to football.  That has been the experience in my area of NE PA.  Youth soccer programs have exploded while youth football participation has declined over the last several years.  This coincides with the fact that Hispanic enrollment in our local public schools has grown to over 50%.  My statement has nothing to do with politics or Sean Hannity, it is merely my opinion as to another reason why football is in trouble.

I just find it so interesting that the same sports journalists and experts in the USA who said for years that soccer was a pu$$y or wimpy sport, are now pointing the finger at it and saying it's concussion issues might even be greater than football's. Players getting concussed at greater rates, playing through it, etc.

...but yeah, they are all wimps LMAO

For the most part, i think women's soccer is a pussy sport.  You do have a few strap-on tools here and there however.

Im out in the garage working on my ATV and just had to run back in the house and ask.......
