Although I know this is mostly a football oriented site I cannot believe the lack of activity on this basketball forum. I have been watching this team all year and suffered along with them in their many close losses. But all season long they have been playing their hearts out. Recently tahat has been paying off in some big wins. I'm afraid they started to win a bit too late this year but still with a great tourny showing who knows. Hats off to the team this year and good luck for the tourny.
My big gripe with Chambers is the inconsistency... We're good enough to beat top 10 & top 25 teams on a somewhat consistent basis (VT, Michigan, Maryland / last year OSU 3 times), but seemingly lose to teams that aren't that good.
IMO that's coaching. We should be better with the talent on the team. However, I do acknowledge that losing Carr last year left us in quite a bind... and our backcourt is very young. Dread and Bolton have come along nicely as Freshman, and losing Reaves won't hurt too much for next year.
However, we can't lose Watkins or Stevens... If either of them decides to leave early it will be a huge loss. One that would certainly cripple what seems to be a 2020 season with lots of potential.
I definitely agree about losing Stevens and/or Watkins. Hopefully they will look at Carr and decide to stay.
