I am really upset at what is going on with the scholarship honoring a convicted felon. This from a school that tore down the statue of an icon before any of the truth came out. I am seriously considering cutting all ties to Penn State the school I graduated from.
Who? What did he do?
@southern-psu-fan They are making a scholarship honoring George Floyd. My problem with this is he was a criminal. There are plenty of people that are not criminals that could be honored.
@I'm always the first guy to defend policemen but that scumbag murdered George Floyd. Don’t let it get ya down brother because people can do with their money as they please. Some of my buddies get on me for wearing Nike shoes and eating at Chick-Fil-A. I’m going to wear what I want eat where I want and enjoy myself because life ain’t all that long to stay upset because of what somebody else does and I’m definitely going to enjoy Penn State football. You’re right though he wasn’t a saint and he’s done some really bad things.
I agree there's way too much revisionist history going on with George Floyd. Of course his murder was a terrible crime and the policeman who were there should face the consequences... but that doesn't mean we need to turn this guy into some sort of Saint. It is possible to denounce his murder while also not holding him up as a role model.
His murder was a tragedy, but everyone seems to want to act like he was some perfect guy that we should memorialize.
@southern-psu-fan Thanks Southern for the wisdom, can't wear nike, foot too wide, but Chick-fil-a is awesome
hey cohappy, I’ve got a buddy that won’t eat at chick-fil-a because they mentioned something about BLM lol. Yes like the democrat and Republican Party the BLM thing is also part of church of Satan but sometimes these companies say stuff in knee jerk reaction and they mess up trying to be politically correct. I just enjoy life and be thankful I live in the best country in the world the ole 🇺🇸.

Just an interesting little tidbit... Did you know the Church of Satan does not actually believe in, nor worship Satan?
yes I did he’s a symbol
Yeah, I kinda find it funny that they are actually all atheists.
@cohappy I did not know about the scholarship you were talking about I listen to a lot of Larry Elder and Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro on these matters The fake news makes some of these people out to be upstanding citizens when they are career criminals I do not agree with how George Floyd was killed The cop should spend the remaining years of his life in prison I really wish it never happened Look at some of these mobbed ruled Antifa protests going on and the destruction of private property And most of these cities with the most crime are left wing liberal run I live just outside Philadelphia I never go there unless I’m getting paid too or maybe see a concert

What cities do you know of that aren't democrat? Some cites who have democrats running them aren't having problems.
@roaminglion. All the big ones are having problems. People leaving the big cities. The crime and the failing education systems Are a joke. Biggest problem I see in these bad areas of Philadelphia and south Jersey Camden. These kids are growing up with no fathers. The father role is replaced by welfare. And some of these kids you know are good. But they don’t have anyone pushing them to finish school. Crime is everywhere and it’s more street cred to drop out and push on the streets then carry a book bag. It’s only got worse once Philadelphia ran the school system. But the Democratics are always going to make it right. Every new Mayor gets in and it’s we have a short fall in the budget. And the taxes get raised and some business stay and some leave. But nothing ever gets better. That’s also why I think Blexit is real and the walk away movement is real. I’m seeing people are changing their stance on the party they were once backing.
People are leaving the northeast in general, not just the cities. Come on now, Seattle is one of the most liberal cities out there and it's the fastest growing in America. Another one? Austin... as liberal as it gets and growing exponentially. Miami and Denver are in the top 10 in growth as well, so don't give me this "people are running away from liberal cities" nonsense. Denver, Miami, Austin, and Seattle are more liberal than Philly and growing like weeds.
It's the northeast in general that is hemorrhaging people, both from the liberal cities AND the more conservative suburbs. Mostly because of the ridiculous cost of living.
@roaminglion How about California. A lot of people are leaving the cities there. High cost of living and moving to places like Arizona Utah Idaho and you Mentioned Austin Texas. Hopefully they don’t bring the blue with them. I have property in Show Low Arizona. Been there twice since I bought it. More and more people coming from California complaining about the problems in the state and reasons for moving. Joe Rogan just said last week he is moving out of there. And Philadelphia is pretty liberal now. I don’t know where you live but it’s changed.
California cities growth rate:
San Francisco - Grew 11% since 2010 census
Oakland - Grew 11.5% since 2010 census
San Jose - Grew 10% since 2010 census
San Diego - Grew 10.5% since 2010 census
L.A. - 5.9% growth since census
People may be moving out, but more people are moving into those cities. 5 of the top 10 states that are actually losing population are Mississippi, Alaska, Illinois, Louisiana, and West Virginia... Not exactly bastions of liberal thought. All I'm saying is I think it's a fools errand to blame one party for people leaving an area, considering many red states lead the country in lost population.
I live in Oregon now, but grew up in NJ and lived there for a considerable time after. I left for the same reason many others have, cost of living and quality of life. Oregon is surprisingly conservative in many places, big ranching industry here and the farming community tends to be split.
You'd actually be surprised what one of the most common things I hear out in Oregon is. I laugh a little every time I hear someone say it, and I'm not kidding they say it a lot:
"I wish they'd go back to California and take their damn ideas with them"
I never would have thought that Oregonians would be more conservative than California. To be honest, when I lived out east I thought the whole state was just tree hugging hippies. Not so... I love the mix actually. Gun stores and pot dispensaries are actually right next to each other in my town. LMAO
@roaminglion I would like to get out there. And see the northwest. My friend from high school lives in Portland. He is always telling my about the outdoor activities to do to stay in shape. I guess you don’t make it back East much. We could all have a Nits Meet up at a home game. But this year would be out.

That would be a lot of fun to meet up. Portland is a great city, I really like living near it. There's some quirky things that go on there that can be fun, and your friend is right there's tons of outdoor activities!
Yeah, I don't make it back to the east coast very much, at least not the northeast now that my mom has moved down near Savannah. Most of my close friends have also moved to places like Chicago, Raleigh, San Diego, etc. I do have a few buds in State College still too, and we've been trying to get everyone to come back for a game. Would have been nice this year, but hopefully next.
