Here's the thing about that... do you know how many guns are confiscated in NJ every year that come from Georgia or South Carolina? Literally 75 to 85% of all guns used in crime from NJ come from those states. You see, what happens when you put in place national gun laws is... criminals can't just easily go down to Georgia or South Carolina to get their guns. It makes it much harder, and much more likely that they will be caught when they try to procure guns. Amazing how that works, right?

There have been surveys conducted that say approximately 80% of U.S. citizens are in favor of stricter gun laws. It hasn’t happened because the NRA throws money at Republican politicians to stop it and fires up the fear mongering message of “they are coming for your guns.” Hell, even Trump was in favor of stricter gun laws after the Las Vegas shooting until the NRA got to him and he backed down. No law abiding citizen is being prevented from buying a gun legally as you have inferred in previous posts. As Roam has said, if gun laws were federally controlled we wouldn’t have the southern states giving guns out at gun shows like they are good for everyone. As for defunding the police. It isn’t happening. Some protestors have advocated for it, but they aren’t in charge and a few city councils have pushed for it, but those police departments would then be supported by county or state governments. The Camden, NJ police department is an example of that. The city of Camden stoped controlling them. The county took control of them, reformed the department and crime is down in Camden, which was widely known as one of the most dangerous cities in America. They actually had peaceful protests there along side the police chief after George Floyd. No violence or looting, just a peaceful march. Before you even go there, Biden DOES NOT support defunding the police. In fact he wants to increase federal funding to police. That’s another right wing fear mongering lie.
