Marine veteran who assaulted police officer with pepper spray gets 5 plus years in prison. This is a guy who broke down in tears begging the judge for lesser sentence and saying sorry. I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for you.
The things you fixate on are really...um....interesting. Once again you seem to be very off the wall lately, you ok?

Maybe you don't like the way I say it. I tell it like it is. Sorry. Are you a marine Vet? Are you offended?
No, not offended. Just wondering if you've never done something, then later regretted it. I'm guessing it was the U.S. Marine Corps that you didn't have the balls to join.

To be fair, I wouldn't describe assaulting officers protecting the Capitol as "doing something you regret later".
It's pretty bad.
@roaminglion Yes, it is different. That didn't quite come across as I had intended. He did the crime, he'll do the time.
Whoever assaults a police officer should get 5 years prison if proven guilty. Their jobs are hard enough as it is.
I might be wrong but I think what BT is getting at is why does it matter that the guy was a Marine vet?? He assaulted a PO and should serve the time he has coming to him. I took it as FT taking a shot at the Marines. That couldnt have been made clearer with his rebuttal to BT. I mean we all know BT is a marine as well as Tsuga. I think it was a piss-poor attempt to take a swipe at those two. Otherwise, why would the first two words in his post be Marine Vet??No, not offended. Anyway, just my two cents. I could be WAY off.......but I dont think so

You are most likely correct, it does seem like he targeted the guy being a Marine for some reason.
lol Yes, Ol' Niccy was cherry picking and I'm sure he was trying to bust Tsuga's and my balls. But hey, that's ok! We bust her ovaries on a regular basis. I actually view it as a bit of a compliment, he usually just calls his antagonists names and moves on, he had to work at this one.
Fact of the matter is, close to 1000 people have been charged in the insurrection. 1 in 5 have a military background. (I'll do the math for you niccy, that's 200, give or take) Did he bring that point up? Did he mention the off duty law enforcement folks that were there? How about the fact some of them were their fellow brothers in arms, Capitol Police officers?
This is the same Niccy that was implying that anyone with any affiliation to PSU is as bad as Sandusky and we should forever hang their heads in shame. If he wants to judge and label people by association, so be it. As I said earlier, I do wonder if he didn't want to be a "big, tough Marine" and just couldn't bring himself to enlist in the service, as he said he wanted to.
Roam, to clarify my "regret" comment. I was speaking to Niccy's description of the Marine "crying". Now, whether the Marine was regretting what he did, the fact that he got caught and/or that he was going to prison, I won't begin to speculate. I wasn't trying to insinuate, because he might be sorry, that he should get any kind of leniency. As far as I'm concerned everyone and I mean everyone of them, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
For Niccy's benefit, I'll go on record as saying, I hope Sandusky has a nice, big, amorous roommate, that will "get medieval" on ol' Jerry's ass, as often as he possibly can.

Really no need to clarify, all I meant was regardless of someone's background insurrection isn't good. LMAO...
@been-there-ii I ain’t got any sympathy for people that riot and destroy other people’s property and if I had my way about it they’d get 10 years in prison for assaulting police officers and rioting with no deals you serve the whole 10 years if proven guilty. If you want to break your own shit then have at it ole southern could care less. We need to start punishing these punks with guaranteed prison time and I promise you they’ll stop.
@roaminglion I'm with ya Roam. And like SPF says, all criminals should serve their full sentence. None of this early parole crap. Time off for good behavior, maybe, depending on what your crime was.
@been-there-ii : "Bust her ovaries" that's a classic!!
