Good to have around the house. Keep the mice away.

@forum-titan My favorite bird too. Have a bunch of owls around this year for some reason. Had a barred owl silently glide in and land above me on one of my deer watches in early Dec. We eyeballed each other for about 5 min. I heard a snap behind me, I slowly turned my head to see what made the noise. Couldn't see anything, turned back to look at the owl and it had just as silently flew off. Never heard a whisper of it's wings & you'd think it had to have flapped at least once to clear the branches. Cool birds!

I remember seeing one as a child in the early 80s in my yard. Sitting there on a branch. Didn't move, Didn't flinch.  I currently live surrounded by acres of open land in the farm lands, mostly corn. I see plenty of them flying around.  I want to build an owl box. It's on my list, just never got around to it.  Plenty of trees around my property to hang a few boxes. This past summer and previous summer 2020 I tended to baby rabbits around the foundation of our home. It was difficult cutting grass not knowing where they had nests. Anyway,  if you get a chance Google Penn live OWLS. They had a video of owlets. Not far from my residence they host an owl show every year.  Another thing I need to see with the wife. Once again,  amazing animal!

I saw a pair of Great Horned owls in the river bottom this past deer season.

The thread title made me remember a joke that was told to me on a very, very cold day on the golf course.  Said in vaudeville style .... It was so cold!  (How cold was it?) It was so cold I saw a lawyer with his hands in his OWN pockets!

Funny part of this is the fact the individual who told me joke was a lawyer.

So a preacher, a doctor and an engineer were playing golf, eventually they caught up to a twosome. Each of the twosome had a caddie, trying their best to help, but their swings and shots were abysmal...kinda like the way I play. As the threesome watched, the two golfers took close to 15 min getting off the green.

As the threesome starts to tee up, they notice the grounds keeper approaching. The grounds keeper stops to chat with them and one of them asks "What's with those two golfers ahead of us?"

The grounds keeper shakes his head and replies, "It's a sad story. Those two guys are firemen. They were injured fighting to save the clubhouse from burning down last year. Both of them lost their sight. To show our appreciation, we let them play for free, anytime."

The preacher said, "Oh. That is sad. I'll say a special prayer for them tonight."

The doctor says "Good thinking! I'll call my ophthalmologist friend and see if he can do anything for them."

The engineer shrugs his shoulders and asks "Why can't these guys play at night?"

Jesus and Moses came down from heaven to play golf and Jesus told Moses to hand him the number 3 club and Moses told Jesus he might need to use another club because he might hit the ball to far and Jesus said just hand me the 3 club so Moses did and Jesus hit the ball and it went into the water and Jesus told Moses go get the ball and Moses did and he got soaking wet and Jesus said again to hand him the 3 club and Moses told Jesus to use another club because the ball would go to far and Jesus said just hand me the 3 and Jesus hit the ball and it went into the water again and Jesus told Moses to go get the ball again and Moses told Jesus for him to go get the ball because he told him to use another club so Jesus went to get the ball and Jesus started walking on the water to get the ball and 2 other golfers were standing near Moses and seen Jesus walking on water and one of the men said who does that guy think he is Jesus Christ and Moses turned around and said that is Jesus Christ but he thinks he’s Arnold Palmer 😁
