Not planning on it just yet. From what I'm hearing out of the talking heads, wait until it's really needed. Or at least that's my understanding. If things go south, I'll be in line. I've got my annual physical on the 9th, I'll ask the doc his thoughts.

I wouldn't wait until it's needed, because I am not sure what that really means. It's a vaccine, not an antibiotic... you take it before it's needed, to prevent needing something else.

Especially if someone has already taken it in the past. It's shown to be safe, they've taken it and tolerated it, and it seriously does a great job in preventing a bad infection of COVID. To me, that is 100% the reason I will take it, to make sure if I get it... it is a mild sickness at best.

Of course, not everyone is front row to see the effects. I know the news has done a piss poor job reporting things, but my wife runs the ICU here and just about every single person they see with COVID is unvaccinated. Earlier this year they were calling Idaho to try and find beds for people, and getting calls from Alaska. People really were dying because they had zero beds to treat them. It's sad, because much of it could be prevented with a shot.

Just my 2 cents, everyone's choice is their own and they need to make the best decision for them.

Thanks guys for your opinion. I’m going to go ahead and get it not to take a chance I’ve had that crap twice and it ain’t fun. I’ve been around quite a few people that had it and I didn’t know at the time and I didn’t get it so I know for a fact the vaccine works it’s saved me a few times. Driving a truck there’s no telling how many people I’ve been around that had it and I didn’t get sick. Thanks again fellas

@southern-psu-fan Doesn't sound like you want the J&J vax.

I'd agree with that, better to go with Moderna or Pfizer. IMO, Moderna is the best option and Pfizer a close 2nd. J&J isn't bad, but doesn't seem as effective as the others. Add to it the questions of a rare clotting issue with J&J, and Been There II is right.

@roaminglion Yep, Moderna seemed the best option, in my mind too.

lol Of course we'll all be dead in 5 yrs, so the Gov. doesn't have to pay out as much Social Security. Oops, make that 3 yrs, time flies when you're havin' fun!

@been-there-ii  some people really believe the government is trying to kill everybody 😂. My goodness people need to stop listening to all the chit on the radio and TV most of its not real because whoever you like and listen to is gettin paid to say what they say and if they don’t say what they’re paid to say the people paying them will get somebody else and pay them. The chit ain’t real, what we do here is real. If you can’t learn anything here at this forum you don’t want to learn anything! We got all different of options here and most of ‘em are good!

@southern-psu-fan As promised, and again for what it's worth, I asked at the VA clinic what they thought about getting the next booster. The Doc said he's going to wait until fall, unless the infection rate gets out of control again. The P.A. told me "Not until it's mandatory and that's all I'm going to say about that."

But as Roam said, you gotta do what makes you feel comfortable.

@been-there-ii  I went ahead and got my booster shot yesterday along with the flu shot and dang it boy my arm is sore as crap. Kroger didn’t have the maderna they only had the Pfizer and the pharmacist said it would be ok so I got it. Besides my arm I feel pretty good today don’t feel anything from gettin the shot. Last time I felt like crap the next day but I was good after that. Some places like google where we deliver they was you to be vaccinated so I went ahead and did it plus I don’t want that crap again. Only me and another dude got the vaccine where I work and we have to go to Google.

@southern-psu-fan My crazy semi-sorta-in laws refuse to get the covid vax, but will line up for the flu shot.

I find it a bit interesting the VA hasn't started sending out "we have the new vax" post cards yet.

I got the bivailent shot a few weeks back, just a bit sore for a day. I'm just about certain they will start offering this as a once a year shot in tandem with the flu shot. Probably 1 combined shot at some point too.

I'm just glad people are back out and about without worrying about masking up everywhere. I still see some people with masks on, but it doesn't bother me one bit. Don't know why anyone would be bothered by it, anyone masking may have higher risks or a loved one who they need to be careful with. As long as they aren't giving me stares or telling me to mask up, it's no worries.

Only places I have to wear a mask nowadays are medical facilities, and unfortunatly I don't think that's going away soon. Hospitals and outpatient buildings might have masks in place indefinitly now.
