Finally, he retains his spot on the World Team after defeating Yianni D 3-1 in Wilkes Barre. It sounds like like it was a heck of a match with Zain using patient/deliberate offense neutralizing Yianni’s crazy funk. It appears Yianni may have gassed in the final period. All in all Yianni was gracious in defeat and the wrestling universe is where it should be. WE ARE!
Mr Lake, someone posted a video on FB of the match. Man.....what a pair of studs. Those two could lace them up 100 times and i firmly believe they'd split it 50-50. Z set him up fairly well with his quick level changes and immediate shots. There were 2 or 3 times where I was certain that Yianni was going to funk out of Z's shots and score. It was so close. As time was winding down Y was kicking Z's head a few times to break free. Looking back on it, I think that was more out of frustration than anything. It was a classic match by two classy guys.
Good hearing from you bulldawgs. I didn’t see the match but heard some comments about it including the kicking. I know you could break down the match better than I so interesting to hear your perspective. Yianni will have his day but for now it belongs to Zain.
It should be an interesting year in 2019/20 between Iowa and Penn State especially with all the expected OLY redshirts. Also, will it be Conol or Beard at 197?
These two guys wrestle at a level that is beyond anything I ever could attain. Conol or Beard?? Wow.....that's a toughie. I'm thinking Conol starts the year at 97 but dont be surprised if Beard wins a wrestle off later in the year. We're looking good with either guy. How's that for straddling the fence?? LOL!!
Mr Lake one more thing: If you do facebook,go on the "We are Penn State" page and there you'll find the video.
@bulldawgs
Thanks bulldawg.
Zain was pissed.
