Penn state dominates Navy 45-0. From what I am reading Teske and Conol not looking impressive but hey, their first match under the lights. Shak did not wrestle, still recovering from an injury and Verkleeran allegedly beat out by Gardner. Interesting.
Not the powerhouse this year that fans are accustomed to seeing. Over the last 2 years Zain, Bo, and Jason moved on. Replacements not even close. Will be fun watching how this group grows. (Inside info on Conel is he was lazy at Kent State and missed practices.)

Having Conol in the lineup allows Beard to red shirt while presumably getting AA points, that’s the plan. I think Conol will be fine. He can and must adjust to a way more competitive room than what he had at Kent. I’ve also heard Conol and Joseph are good friends so moving to the Sanderson culture will be easier. First match , high school , college or international is always uneasy.

From what I read it's just his conditioning coming back from injury. They weren't very concerned about having him in peak shape now, but rather wanted to ease him back and steadily build that endurance up. It seems like Conel was gassed for the end of the match, but still able to pull it out. Hopefully he'll get that strength and endurance back, but I can see him taking early losses while still finding his way.
IMO I doubt it's that he's "lazy" or just plain missing practices. No matter what the situation, I doubt Cael would put up with that.
My mom sent a photo of Cassar wrestling this past Sunday. He is BIG. A very big back. Parents are going to West Point for the match this weekend.
