It’s Day 2 of the B1G tournament and it’s crickets here? PSU is right in the thick of the team title battling Michigan and Iowa for the top spot. Where my wrestling peeps at?
Man 99 with all the crap going on in Ukrain and watching the people die and suffer it’s hard to do anything with sports. I did post yesterday a post on the football. I haven’t even payed any attention to nascar this week either. I know it’s political so I’ll just leave it at that buddy but I will be watching the NC. Let’s go Penn State wrestling
The chatter was going pretty good here for a few weeks. Once Thekid left, it kind of went downhill. I posted a few things on here but got minimal response. I cant hold a candle to his knowledge and expertise, but I tried.
Nittany Nation has a pretty strong following, a novice like myself can learn a lot on there.
Also, I'm pretty sure Lake was going to be in attendance at the tournament.
@southern-psu-fan You can’t dwell on Ukraine Southern. It is a travesty, but take a break from it. It’ll drag you down. There’s nothing you or I can personally do to help except maybe avoid buying Russian made products or getting gas at stations like Lukoil that directly benefit Russia.
@t-hale I’m going to have to plead ignorance here. Why are PAKid and Tsuga not here anymore? What did I miss? I admit I am sporadic in reading and posting sometimes depending on what’s going on here at home.
PSU is in a dogfight with Michigan and Iowa for the B1G team title. PSU and Michigan both have 5 wrestlers in the Championship round. Iowa has 4. Championship Round starts at 4:30 on BTN.
@lionbacker99 Man, Brooks just lost a tough one. I'm not sure where Tsuga is. As I recall, he had covid and wasnt doing very well. Navylion (I think) keeps in touch with him, he may know what's up with him.
It seems TheKid was upset over a some comments made about Mason Manville. Basically, it was someone making a childish comment about him, and TheKid took exception to it. At least that was my perception. He seems to be pretty passionate about his wrestling, and doesnt stand for any bullshit.
@t-hale Yes, a rare loss by Brooks. He’ll be ready in 2 weeks. I wouldn’t expect him to lose again.
I know tsuga had Struggled with COVID but I thought he had gone home for his anniversary and was starting to feel better, however, I haven’t seen a post from him here in a really long time.
I recall now the incident you referred to. That’s too bad. Our loss. He brought a level of expertise the rest of us could not offer. Hope he comes back.
For those that didn’t see it. Michigan wins the B1G Wrestling Championship over PSU by 1.5 points, despite PSU crowning 4 champs. Two weeks for Cael to get them ready for a national title run.
Some matches I thought we had won cost us the Championship.
The early upset at 125 hurt a lot. That looked like a win for a lot of the match.
Kirk losing in the semis when all he had to do was hold on 1 more second and he could have. He finished third
Berge's loss hurt and I believe he had it won, he finished 3rd?
Then we have the Brooks loss which ended it. The stall warning on Brooks seemed to change the match. Brooks will adjust for nationals.
Still 4 1sts to Michigan's 2, 1 second and two thirds.
I suspect it also hurts on points when you have so many 1st round byes. No bonus points.
I’m assuming Penn St still has a good chance at another NC? Is the championship this weekend? Thanks
I've been tuning out of this forum. I'm tired of the veiled taunting to some posters by some posters (not you T) and others cheering it on. As for the Kid, I hope he's not over reacting...... it is what it is and Kid made his point so I hope he comes back. I especially hope TSUGA and his wife are doing well. This pandemic and its long haul effects has been harder on all of us than we can ever really know.
I will be in Detroit for nationals and i'm fortunate to be there. Tickts are expensive and hard to come by but I got them at a reasonable price by donating to the College Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Great BIG tournament and hats off to Michigan for executing perfectly. With but a few mishaps and mental mistakes, it was a good tourment for PSU wrestlers as well, especially Berge. I don't like the medical forfeits unless, in fact, the wrestlers can't continue. I believe there were a record number of them at this years tourney.

Me too, I know of the post that is being referred to and it wasn't even aimed at Manville... it was a nice little jab at you (lakeerie) and the wording your used in your post. If that post is what drove him away, then yes he definitely over reacted... not ashamed to say that.
That said, I seriously doubt that is why he left. Maybe it was the final straw though and he felt he wanted a more serious forum? Who knows. Whatever it was though I hope he and his family are doing well.

Thursday starts it off. We'll do better point wise in this tournament just for the simple fact that our #1 and #2 seeds wont get byes like they did in the B1g tournament. If we wrestle to chalk, we should rack up 126 points; and that's without bonus points. Im thinking the good guys place first, meatchicken #2 and Iowa is a distant 3rd
