Committed to Cornell. They're getting a good one here. We're just too crowded at his projected weights. I'm glad he went there and not to Iowa but in all reality, they were never in the mix.
Ya, really good choice for him, his talents and his academic acumen. I've always thought, why wouldn't you go to an Ivy League school? Now with NIL's any quality recruit can afford to go there and Cornell has world class facilities. Like you I'm glad he didn't go to Iowa and agree he was likely heavily recruited but never part of the mix.
PSU got another less heralded recruit in Connor Pierce. He's from Harborcreek (a suburb of Erie), 4 time PIAA placewinner and this year, a runner up in double A to Crookham (a Lehigh recruit with a very high expectations ). It will be interesting to follow his career, he may not have the laurels as some of the hs elites but he is a scrapper and could raise some eyebrows under Penn State coaching. He trained at the same club room as Carter Starocci and Gary Stean.
Yep. No knock against Penn State, but yeah, if you can afford it, why not get an Ivy League education.

If I played football and wasn't going to get into the NFL, I'd probably put my name in the portal when I graduated and transfer to an Ivy for Graduate school. Of course, if I could get in.
@lakerie Connor is good enough that he can break into almost any other lineup in the country. He wanted to come to PSU, and CS wanted him at PSU. From what I've read and heard, he has a very high ceiling. If he wrestles unattached his first year and takes his lumps at NLWC I see no reason at all why he wouldnt AA his Jr or Sr year.
I cant wait to see SVN, Haines, and AF in the lineup. Haines is gonna be a beast!!!!

An Ivy League education is over rated.
@sky Yes and no....It's been my opinion that your school's reputation greatly enhances your exposure in to the job market. In my day, if I got a resume with Harvard or Penn on it, I invited the person for an interview, out of curiousity more than anything. But after that it's job performance that determines future success.
@sky: Perhaps it is. But with an Ivy League education you'd know that "overrated" was the correct spelling; not over rated.

I'd agree if you're talking about undergrad, but an Ivy Graduate degree opens doors.
