You ain't missin nothing by not smoking a cigarette but cigars are a beautiful thing and everybody should enjoy a fine cigar at least once in their life..
@the-funeral-director my son and nephew smoke cigars and drink Makers Mark bourbon. I’ll take responsibility for him drinking Makers Mark but I don’t know where he got smoking cigars from 😂 they only do it once or twice a month
I suggest you procure yourself an Ashton Churchill and join them on their cigar night for an enjoyable smoke and some fine drink...Preferably after enjoying a fine steak... 😀
@psujoe Oh yeah, Central PA is where I learned to smoke cigars. Started out on Bob Dimples Swisher Sweets, back in those day they actually had a leaf wrapper. Grew up in Jersey Shore (between Loch Haven and Williamsport) spent my summers fishing the tribs of Pine Creek. lol I thought there were bugs were crazy down there, until I moved up here.
@the-funeral-director Too much smoke for a beginner. SPF will turn green and mess up that steak!
Hey FD, you deal w/ the public daily, what do you do for cigar breath?
Brush my teeth 3 times a day and plenty of scope...
@the-funeral-director OMG FD when I cook filet mignon on my big green egg I always have a 🍺 beer with it and maybe one before and after 😂 I can dip good steak 🥩 in beer it just goes together brother maybe I will try a cigar afterwards one day. My son and nephew sure do look like they’re having fun 😂. FD, we just have to much fun in this family baby but that 11-11 is killing me lol
Okay, you had to bring up the BGE. Southern, have you slow cooked a full boneless prime rib roast in the egg?
@psu61 I have not 61 my wife doesn’t like prime rib she says it’s to fatty. I more of a steaks , ribs, pork, chicken and turkey. Of course hamburgers and hotdogs. We cook Mac Cheese and all kinds of foods on it. I’ve never cooked a brisket on it but me and my father-in-law are doing one in a few weeks down at his place at the lake. My father-in-law is the grill master he use to own a bbq restaurant and I copy everything he does because he’s dang good at grilling or smoking. I’m not the greatest at just jumping on something and grilling it but if I watch my father-in-law cook something I can do it just like he does. I’ve been watching him for 29 years baby and even though I’m a copycat I’m dang good at it 😂
@southern-psu-fan Go for it SPF! Start short and work your way up. Having a full stomach will help ease the queasy.
@bdc Moonshine Crook and Sher Bidi from my younger days. Anyone else ever try them.
@brownale Had a Moonshine Crook or two in my day. Hard to find in my area growing up. (pre-internet)
Tried some bidis once, from a headshop in downtown SC. They were not the Sher brand though. Not sure what was in them, but they made my head spin, kicked my ass.

I've never even heard of that stuff.

Which tribs were you fishing? Pines Creek is bath water by mid summer! I rode the rail trail a couple years ago and actually did camp along and bathe in that Creek.

@been-there-ii Was that the Lazy J perhaps?? 1/2 block east from The Tavern Restaurant in the basement? Remember stopping in a few times back in the 70's - very eye opening for a young teen at the time
@psujoe Trout Run and Slate run were my favorites for brookies. Little Pine if I wanted to fish for stock trout or if I had kids along that would have been a PITA if I was hiking in. Other stream I had good luck Chatham Run, above Woolrich. Young Woman's Creek has some nice fishing too. Larry's Creek above Salladsburg. Missed the biggest brookie in my life there. Must have been an old breeder from the hatchery at Lamar. I was a youngster, water was crystal clear. I saw it materialize out of a brush pile, as it opened it's mouth to grab my spinner, I yanked....just a fraction of a second too quick. haha About pissed my pants.
Speaking of fish hatchery, Fishing creek below Lamar, where it doesn't go underground during the summer, makes for some good stocky fishing too. My ex's Uncle used to fish just above Mill Hall (the "Old Ax Handle dam)at night using minnows, used to kill the browns in there.
Yes, Pine Creek does get warm in the summer. Then, I just switch to small mouth. I have favorites, but as long as something is yanking my pole, I was happy. Back in my younger days, we'd grab a couple 6's and have a carp derby dangling corn in the Bald Eagle between Mill Hall and Blanchard dam.
Would love to bike or canoe down the rail trail, fish every decent looking hole along the way.
@bdc Lazy J, that would be the place! lol Used to look over my shoulder going in. Used to feel like a felon coming back out! Even if most of the time I was just looking and wondering.
