Looking at the CFP rankings, even if Ohio State get completely obliterated by Michigan they won't fall much. Probably 1 spot? Maybe? They are #10, and we are #12. I mean, Florida might pass them even with 3 losses but us? That would be strange.
If Ohio State wins... I think we'd be out of the NY6 bowls. For us to get into one we need Oklahoma, Michigan, Washington State, and Clemson to win out. I know y'all think Alabama would still be in if they lost to Georgia in the SEC Championship, but I don't think so. Not when the other name waiting is Michigan. Too big a name for the committee to pass over IMO (not that it should be based on names, but we know it kinda is).
If Ohio st beats Michigan and the Tide loses to Georgia the committee will take Ohio State over Alabama

I don't think so, not with the way they lost to Purdue. Ohio State wouldn't even be in the conversation, they'd still be behind Washington State and Oklahoma (If both win)
Don't care if they beat Michigan or not, that Purdue loss will haunt them. Not for losing, but they way they lost.
The winner of Ohio State and Michigan will be in the playoffs you just wait and see Roam lol

Hate to disagree with my man SPF - but either of these 2 teams losing next week in the Big Ten Championship could be enough to knock both of them out of the playoff. Either needs to win both to have a chance.
If Michigan wins they'll be in, but Ohio State won't be without help.
Als, BoB has a very good point, if either of them lose to Northwestern they are out.
Absolutely but I don’t see NW beating Michigan or Ohio st. If NW wins the BIG the BIG will be left out again and they deserve to be left out.

Of course they would, and the committee has shown that teams who get hammered by unranked teams deserve to be left out as well.
this is nothing new, year after year they have devalued teams when they get absolutely obliterated by average teams. it's obvious at this point that how you lose is very important to the committee.
Big 10 champ with one loss gets in unless it’s another conference champ with one loss. I’d say with wins over Michigan and penn st Ohio st gets in regardless. I just believe if Ohio st beats Michigan they are in plus I don’t see see them leaving Ohio st out again winning the conference 2 straight years, not going to happen. Jim Delany will step in brother you better believe that.
All I know is if JF loses to MD tomorrow, I will be the first one outside his house with a U-haul.....to help jump start his trip to USC! LOL
Penn State needs to win tomorrow and let the chips fall where they fall. $$$ is going to come into play whether we like it or not and Penn State will sell out the Peach Bowl making them a good selection. Not sure another trip to the desert is in cards, but again, PSU is good bet here too.
There is a lot football to play the next two weeks, but the CFP committee won't drop the losers too far back this late in the season making it difficult as you said for PSU to move up too far. They win tomorrow and jump up to 11 next week, then I think the writing is on the wall for the Peach Bowl or Fiesta Bowl.

If you think they are putting Ohio State in over 1 loss #5 Oklahoma, you're nuts. Oklahoma would get in.
Why does everyone keep talking like Clemson won't be excluded? If the comittee does what is suppose to do and look at the resumes with an open mind instead of subjectively they would realize that Clemson is overrated.

Because the committee has already weighed in on Clemson, they ranked them #2. Nothing in the next two weeks short of a loss is going to make them drop Clemson to #5.
I said another one loss conference champ might get in over Ohio st
If you’ll remember remoh I wasn’t all that impressed with Clemson early in the year and didn’t have them ranked in my true top 5 but Clemson has made a believer out of me the 2nd half of the year. They’re pretty dang good. Roam even ask me how I could leave Clemson out of my top 5 and he was right Clemson is dang good. When their QB got hurt a thought it would set them back but man they haven’t missed a beat. Alabama is the only team that can beat ‘em from what I’ve seen so far but with football it can change from week to week. We will see.
Honestly I look forward to seeing ND & Michigan's defenses go up against Clemson and Alabama. If it comes down to those teams, they will be good games to watch
Absolutely but I don’t see NW beating Michigan or Ohio st. If NW wins the BIG the BIG will be left out again and they deserve to be left out.
Did you foresee Purdue beating OSU?
No sir mb but when the game started and I seen how fired up the Purdue players were I thought Ohio st better watch out. The kid with cancer and it being a night game and Ohio st on the road just smelled like an upset. Remember Iowa knocks off highly ranked teams playing in their house on night games. They’ve beat Michigan and Ohio st and had a chance to beat us playing there at night. It’s getting harder and harder to go on the road regardless what team it is. The big 10 championship game won’t be at NW?
