Hey Nits.

The missus and I are heading your way in a couple weeks. We are bringing our 19' campervan and plan to tailgate. We'd like to stay overnight in the van. Any suggestions for where to park and enjoy the scene while we're "preparing" for the game? We're walking types so it can be up to 2 miles from the stadium.

Also, what about after the game? Any watering holes where visiting fans are tolerated?

Cheers,

J

@cfbfansince73 RV parking is not permitted on campus. Special parking facilities are available near Beaver Stadium during home football weekends. For more information, please contact the Athletic Ticket Office at (814)-863-1000 or 1-800-NITTANY.

The White Out game or Ohio State?  it doesn't matter, just get parked and enjoy the game day experience.  There ain't much out their that will compare to the White Out game or the Ohio State game this year.  If you come up Friday afternoon, get a Rolling Rock at Zeno's and/or try the Shandygaff. The Basement Night Spot is cool too. Bill Pickles Tap Room is cool too.

I’m partial to Primanti’s !! The one in State College isn’t the same as going to the original one in Pittsburgh but they have an excellent beer selection and the sandwiches are are a unique experience that you’ll find nowhere else.

THanks, guys. Appreciate the tips. Sounds like I should be able to park in the normal area as far as vehicle size. Staying overnight may require a bit of stealthiness.

It's going to be a great game.  Welcome to Pennsylvania.  Hope you enjoy your stay.

With DonOLD TRUMP being there we may not know the final score until next week.  DonOLD TRUMP will need to recount the total TDs.

@cfbfansince73 Bald Eagle State Park is 1/2 hr or so down the road from St College. Not sure if they're still open for the season, pretty park, camping, fishing, hiking etc.

@been-there-ii - thanks for the tip. We're planning to stick around for a few days to check out some gravel bike riding.

@cfbfansince73  You're welcome.  Lots of old, dirt/gravel CCC roads back in the hills in that area, perfect to riding. Pine Creek/Little Pine dam is another state park. The upper end of Pine Creek (Pa Grand Canyon), Wellsboro area, they pulled up the RR tracks, made it into a trail, runs along the "crick". All kinds of places, too little time.
