Kid looked good. It will be interesting to see how it plays out next year with Clifford, Veilleux, and Allar (if he signs) and is as good as touted.
- Is it time for Clifford to go and give the reins to Veilleux in 2022.Â
- Cliff stays and Veilleux continues to develop alongside of Allar in 2022.
- Veilleux and Allar play it out for starter in 2023.
- Does Veilleux transfer if he doesn't beat out Allar in 2023.
- Does JF say, "Hey MY, who's your guy to run your O"?
- Does MY say, "Hey JF, fix the O'line and it wont matter who starts, they're all good; but for Christ's sake, fix the O'line".
- Does BP bolt to VA Tech?
Hey guys, just rambling thoughts above while waiting for the morning appetizers and thoughts of getting bloated out on all the other stuff this afternoon 😀Â Â I've got the venison tenderloin, sliced thin served on crackers with a horseradish Dijon cream cheese spread; I hope someone else works up a platter of smoked oysters to go along with the routine vittles.Â
Happy Thanksgiving!
We shall see what we shall see! Happy Thanksgiving 61 & all fellow NITS.
@rip I hadn’t really thought about Clifford playing next year. I like the guy but dont really see him playing on sundays. Maybe he sticks around to throw to his little brother. I don’t know about this but I do know your venison sounds D-Lish.
The only thing keeping Clifford here is a chance to make himself look good for the draft. Right now he's not going to be taken at all, but another year and possibly a jump in production may get him there.
Whether that means he stays here or transfers... I don't know.
We can’t overlook Beau Pribula also coming in. By all accounts he is a real gamer and often compared to Trace McSorley.
@psuinhawaii  I sure hope he is Hawaii and let the best man play and that goes for the rest of this year. I believe Clifford gives us the best chance to win but #9 looked pretty dang good last week.
I’m guessing Clifford leaves and it will be a battle between the young guys.
I have heard some announcers saying Clifford will go in the 3rd round. I don't see it, but that is what I heard. I compare him to a McGloin. He did a nice job, was competitive, but just enough there to play every Sunday. McSorley ( IMO ) is light years ahead of Clifford and you see how his career has gone since he graduated. Will he play more going to Arizona? I hope so!
Â
CV did a nice job vs Rutgers, but then again it was Rutgers. I would love to see him get some time vs Sparty. He seems a little uneasy in the pocket, but that should be expected w/o experience at this level. Thought that first TD pass to Dodson was pretty sweet! He is 2 inches taller than Clifford and I swear he had more control with his passes over the middle vs Cliff.Â
Â
I think we are going to be OK at QB for the next few years. They just need to get the Oline working and they should be good on offense. The Defense? Losing a lot of good guys, so hopefully they can fill some of these voids.
Â
Go State!

I'm gonna stick it in here; it doesn't matter who the QB is if the O'line doesn't get shored up (period). A team can only mask a weakness for so long and when the foundation (line) crumbles, the QB becomes tenderized meat; no way, shape or form around that outcome. So while we all talk up the QB position, the behind the scene work has to be on the f'ing O'line! That premise goes for any level of football.Â
@psu61  61, as for the OL the rest of this year, you’re just going to have to deal with it brother lol I actually thought they played better the last game against Rutgers. I know it’s Rutgers but Rutgers defense is better than some that we struggled against. All they can do is keep trying we’ll see what happens Saturday. 9-4 baby is the new goalÂ
I hope Franklin turns Yurcich loose & Yurcich then turns Clifford loose & lets him run as much as he wants! Now that we know #9 is a capable back-up, no need to limit Clifford's exposure to injury. Not that I want Clifford to get injured, but now it's safe to take the gloves off!
Southern I hear ya on the rest of the season, but I'm more of a 1-2 season out type of thinker. The pattern for the past several years has been a problem at O'line and that isn't fixed yet, so looking forward I honestly do not expect anything different than a 2-4 loss season until the line problem is resolved.
I'm gonna say there is no way Clifford is going in the 3rd round, I doubt he would be drafted at all.
I 2nd that thought Roam...I don't see him getting drafted at all...My bet is he comes back...I also agree 100% with 61...Unless they fix this O-Line it doesn't matter who is playing QB, RB, WR or TE...They lose a lot on defense but they seem to have a lot of depth and young talent coming in to replace the veterans...The defense isn't the problem year after year...The problem is they can't run the ball to close out ballgames...
