Personally, it think if you are going to cancel it then just cancel it for the year. Moving it to the spring would be a big mistake IMO, because then what do you do in the fall? All the kids come back less than 3 months later and start again? I can only image how many athletes would be tired, injured, or just completely burned out.
Yeah it sucks for the seniors, but who's to even say we're going to be over this come spring? Just my opinion, but might as well wait until next fall and be done with it. Cancel all the fall sports just like the MAC and see where you are for Spring sports... but don't try and come up with some weird Spring concoction for playing football.
Yeah, I'm not sold on spring football any more than I am on Fri night games. And yep, there's no guarantees there would be spring ball either.

I think they are going to try and pull this off in the Fall...just my opinion. I think the MAC cancelled the Fall because they lost some games that would have paid them lot's of gate money. Not sure financially it makes $$ sense for them to play now.
Baseball, Basketball, Racing and Golf are doing the best they can and they are bringing live entertainment to us. Not exactly how I would like to see it, but we do have something to watch. Does it make sense to play college football? Since I don't I have a kid in the mix, not sure it is fair for me to speak one way or another. But, from the CHEAP seat, I think the kids can play and they should be the ones voting on this. As bad as it is being made to look, 99% of the US does NOT have this virus. Quite honestly, I am tired of seeing the 'napkin math" that some of these networks are putting out there. I am doing my part to help slow the spread, but I am also living. If there are no fans in the stadium and they take precautions to make it safe for the players and staff, then I say let them play. I don't see the advantage of playing in the Spring vs this Fall. The virus will still be here (in the Spring) and it only takes one person to start the spread. Even if the national rate reduces by 90% in the Spring, if the other 10% is in State College PA, does it really matter if they play this fall or next Spring?
I think you take it one week at a time. See how it goes each week and if it looks like it is not safe, then cancel the season and start next fall. Cancelling it now and moving it to the Spring is useless. If they cancel it now, then just cancel it until next Fall. These kids are going to face more in their life over the next 50 years than a one loss season of football.

Before this happened I would go for Saturday breakfast and talk to a elderly vet. I liked talking to him and the discussions he brought to the table no matter what subject it was. Politics, hunting, outdoors, sports. I always appreciated his opinions and outlook. I saw him recently. He said if Trump gets reelected the virus stays. If he loses , the virus goes away.

Dear Brother Southern .... those 2 are "experts" in infectious diseases. They are not experts on anything else .. aka... the economy! They have done more harm to this country than any silly Kung Flu virus ever could. Once we wake up and realize this, maybe things can finally turn out for the best.
Everyone knows all the data has been hijacked and lied about adnausiem, you die from a motorcycle wreck, it's Covid. IF you ever had a cold, you will test positive for Covid. Then when 100 people get tested, they say all 100 are positive, then weeks later say that was wrong, and lower the numbers. This has been going on this entire crisis for everything. If they can't be straight about any of the data or facts, there is no way anyone should trust them about anything. If you had a friend or neighbor that lied to you on every occasion, would you still trust them??? Me thinks not.

i agree with most of what you said but I am listening to the best 2 people dealing with these kinds of situations in Dr Fouci and Dr Birx and if I go down listening to the best we’ve got then so be it but I also believe when you listen to the best odds are probably always going to be on your side.
