i think the 3.5 spread is generous. The Ohio State team has a bit more experience. Their stable coaching staff is definitely a plus. PSU has extremely athletic kids. Penn State could pull off a victory if our guys continue to improve. Ohio State has yet to play a team of our caliber so there are a lot of question marks about the team west of us.

Regardless of the outcome, I hope the student body shows maturity and class.

I don't think we know how good Ohio State is yet. We thought we had an idea after they played TCU but then the same Texas team that lost to Maryland also beat TCU. And let's not forget it took two defensive touchdowns to take the lead in that one.

I will give you that Penn State has less experience but I am telling you right now that we have not seen the best of this team yet and part of that is planned. They have certainly not shown as many blitz packages early in the season.

Penn State should have won the game big last year but Franklin turtled up in that game rather than keeping his foot on the gas. They were up by 11 with 5 minutes to play on the road in a hostile environment.

Now, I will say this. In my opinion, Ohio States strength is Penn States weakness. I am not convinced yet, that Brent Pry has great pass coverage schemes. I have seen many an average quarterback have HUGE days against his defenses in the air. That scares me especially with the offensive line that Ohio State has this year and they finally have a pass first QB, which is not something a James Franklin team has faced when playing Ohio State. Perhaps, that will make it easier on the defense without having to worry about losing containment while going for pressure.

We could say something similar about Ohio State as well. Urban Meyer has not faced a Penn State team with this much talent and speed all over the field.  I would argue that, offensively, this years team is better than last years because the O-Line is better and as it goes, this team will go.  The X-Factor is Trace McSorley.  I will take his leadership and experience in a game of this magnitude vs a sophomore in his first road game in a truly hostile environment. Haskins bread and butter is the crossing route and Penn State needs to eliminate yards after the catch on his short passes and pressure him enough to keep him off balance so he cannot be accurate on the longer ones.

My gut tells me Penn State wins this game by 10 but I would not be shocked if they lost as well. I think the key to the game is to score early and often. They cannot afford to be a second-half team this Saturday. We have not seen this Penn State team play a full game yet and if they can manage to do that Saturday, they will emerge victoriously.

OK, you can't do that!  There is no logic there.....Pick one! Win by 10 or pick they lose? LOL

Mt Nittany is sticking to PENN STATE by 32!  You need to step up and say by 10! It's ok....you will not get into any trouble.

GO STATE!!!!!

The speculation is fun but the game tells it all.
