And find a way to get the win tonight. They say Clifford will be a 100% tonight and if that is the case we will score 28 to 35 points which should be enough to win. Ohio St’s defense might be a little better than Iowa’s so we should be able to score. On defense we have to bring the heat on the QB and bring some blitz’s up the gut to disrupt the Ohio St running game and hopefully cause a few turnovers. Gotta hit the FG’s when we kick. Brent Pry and the defense has a good game we’ll win this game. James Franklin has had some big time upsets in his career so we all know he can do it he needs his head in this game tonight to get the win. Win a game like this and get some momentum going and most people will forget what happened against Illinois. Just win baby!
The Braves did get the win last night we need 2 more baby. I like baseball and I’m a Braves fan but dang the games are just to long. I’ve now watched 2 full games this year 😂

Alright ol' Southern; tell me who the big time upset wins came over during Franklin's time at PSU; I count one, OSU in 16'.
@psu61 any time he beat Georgia, Florida a d Tennessee when he was at Vanderbilt. Look at Vanderbilt now they don’t even sniff a bowl game must less a bowl win. You said at Penn St but at Penn St we should be the favorite 99% of the time. But at Penn St any win during the 2014 and 2015 season against big 10 teams or bowl wins. BOB had gravey compared to what James Franklin had to work with and Franklin vs Bob first 2 years they had about the same amount of wins. Brother, 2016-2019 we win eleven games 3 time that dang good for any team.
Don’t get me wrong 61, I’m just as pissed as anybody else is about the loss to Illinois but a win against Ohio st would make up for it. We also need players to step it up and make a dang play in crunch time. We’ve had a hard time catching the ball on defense that could’ve ended the game with a win and it’s been a big problem under Brent Pry.

The only time he beat any of those teams in an upset was Georgia in 2013. The Bulldogs were 8-5 that year.
Florida was 4-8 the year Vandy beat them, and Tennessee was 5-7 or worse. Wouldn't call those upsets.
For Vandy they are upsets. At the time I expect most people thought they were upset.
@underlion exactly, when Vanderbilt beats Georgia, Florida or Tennessee it’s an upset

No, when a 9-4 team beats a 4-8 team from the same conference it is not an upset. I don't care what name is on the chest.
You can't say that and also constantly argue that the committee is "biased" because they give some teams the benefit of the doubt for past performance. You are doing the same thing calling that an upset.
Either past seasons count toward perception or they don't. Vanderbilt won 9 games and Tennessee won 4. If it's an "upset", you are admitting past seasons matter towards ranking and perception.
They only reason that would be an upset is Vandy usually sucks, and Tennessee historically doesn't. It has nothing to do with the teams on the field that year.

So many things wrong with that statement and is exactly what's wrong with college football. Your way of thinking is why OSU is ranked ahead of Oregon even though they have the same record and the Ducks went on the road and beat them in their stadium.

When we hired him we thought he was 'upsetting' better teams/programs. Now your premise is that because he had a better record he's never upset a better team. Or maybe your premise is that at Vandy he was able to recruit better than those bigger programs so they were not upsets. Or maybe it was the mythical Vandy speed and intelligence.
Or maybe he was just average at Vandy and GA FL TN just had a down year at the same time. Hey I don't remember, I get confused between McGoins and McQuereys. Is McQuery the guy that saw the shower episode and did nothing? If so I apologize profusely to McGoin.
No, I remember he had Vandy at 500 in the SEC and that was impressive for the perennial DOORMAT of the super powerful SEC.
Hey but maybe that was when everyone loved JF before his 1st loss at PSU.
@psujoe Oregon shouldn’t have lost to a bad Stanford team and they would be ranked ahead of Ohio St. the rankings today is what’s going on today not the second game of the season. Ohio st has got better they just needed to break in a few players.
You can run around and try to spin it all you want, but in the end you are trying to say it's an upset when 9-4 Vandy beats 4-8 Florida.
The same Florida that lost to Georgia State that year.
It isn't diminishing Franklin's accomplishment at Vandy to state the obvious fact that Florida SUCKED that year. They did. It wasn't an upset, nor was beating Tennessee twice, they sucked terribly at that point too.
Those points don't negate that he won 9 games at Vandy. However, don't make them out to be something they aren't... Vandy was a 9 win team, those victories were over 4-5 win teams.
Even at the time, they weren't upsets. Good program wins sure, but the only way you can even say they are upsets is if you just say "Well Florida is usually good so must be a great win"
@roaminglion Florida was a 10 point favorite the year Vanderbilt beat Florida in 2013 roam so it was an upset..period

That's like saying Georgia beating Clemson this year was an upset. I mean, sure at the time I guess it looked good but Clemson stinks. Maybe it's because I just don't really consider that an upset either.
I've heard of butts dragging on the ground but this whole butts on our shoulders thing must be some sort of southern thing because I've never heard that before.

I keep hearing on the pregame show how great Clifford has looked this week and now JF comes on and says Clifford felt much better on Sunday and is as close to 100% as he can be. He also said that Clifford's injury was not only physical but also mental.

will someone please tell the coaches that running up the middle has not worked all year. PLEASE stop running up the middle
Welcome to the Nit House!. But..but..but.. we need to establish the run game, come hell or losses!
