Kind of a disappointing afternoon, but yeah it helped a touch.

How'd the hunt go?

@been-there-ii: Yeah.  Didnt watch the game.  After seeing the score I figured, why bother??

We went one for three today.  My granddaughter shot a 174lb spike this afternoon.  This deer has been a spike for the last three years.  I'm glad to see it taken out of the gene pool. One grandson hit what looked like a 5 or 6 pt just before about 30 minutes before dark.  We found blood and hair and tracked it for maybe 50-75 yds before backing off of it cause of darkness.  I'll be out at first light tomorrow.  I'm pretty confident we'll find that one too.  He did the "mule kick" when he was shot.  He was headed toward a bog and I didnt want to chance chasing it deeper into the that at night.

Found it. Laying right on a 4 wheeler trail. So that makes us 2 for 3. Pretty good day for sure.

That's what it is all about!!! Sounds like a fun day for you. My daughters never hunted, I don't have grandkids - daughters are still single living the good life in the city - but I did teach them to fish!! In fact, they still fish with me today....although, they don't touch live bait, lures only!!

Just a little fun fact since we are proud of our kids/grandkids. My one daughter finished in the top 5% of the Boston Marathon two weeks ago.  Placed 3rd in the Baltimore MD which qualified her for the Boston this year!!

GO STATE!

WELL!!!! As long as we are bragging about grandchildren. I will take this moment to tell all that my second grandchild, a granddaughter, was born 2 weeks ago. She is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful addition to her 2 1/2 year old brother. The entire family including grandparents are doing well. Despite my excitement, I hesitated to announce this a few weeks ago but what the heck,  I'll take any opportunity I can.

@lakerie congratulations brother, I have a granddaughter on the way she should be here in the next couple of weeks. I just adopted a 3 year old Alabama fan grandson 😁 His daddy is a Tide fan so I’ve got work to do and it doesn’t help losing to stinking Illinois 😡. The kid loves his pop thought, I’m pop lol

Thank you Mtnittanylion and SPF. We are very excited and proud. SPF...please let us know when your granddaughter is here. Little girls are so sweet and you will have a "grand" time playing Barbies and Tea as she gets older. As for your Bama grandson, he is lucky to have you and will soon turn to the beautiful blue and white. He's going to love Penn State wrestling as I know you will show him the way.

Dont you guys EVER hesitate to share news about children or grandchildren with the rest of us.  That's what makes this forum so special; in spite of some of the a-holes that have found a nesting place here.

Congrats to Lake on your addition & Tsuga's guiding expertise.

Speaking of grandkids... Here's one for the little goblins.

How do you fix a leaky pumpkin?

Well, with a pumpkin patch of course!
