#1 Michigan
#2 Georgia
#3 Ohio St
#4 Penn State
#5 Texas
i only rank the top 5 teams because this is where the big dawgs play. I have Washington on the outside looking in.
We’ve done nothing to warrant a #4 ranking at this point in time. I’d have ND and Washington ranked ahead of us.
@psujoe IMO we’re to good on defense for ND and Washington. I do have Washington on the outside looking in.

What exactly has Washington done though? Run up the score on terrible teams? The teams they beat have a combined record of 2-7 and the 2 wins were FCS teams.
Just saying all this is premature anyway
@roaminglion I agree Roam. I’m not so sure Georgia is better than we are either. To beat us you have to be good at QB and I ain’t seeing it in Georgia. USC might be the team possibly I’m not giving enough credit to because they are good at QB. Seems like most of the top 10 ain’t good at QB but it’s still a young season so we will see.
@roaminglion Their offense has been impressive but as you have said it’s too early in the season to know who should be in the top.

Having Georgia ranked in the top 5 is a perfect example of voters ranking teams based on what they’ve done in past years. The polls are suppose to be a ranking of what has happened in the current season.
@psujoe I don’t think Georgia is good at QB and the Tide is definitely struggling at QB. I’m sure both teams will improve as the season goes.
@psujoe ND’s schedule has been SOFT to this point. Navy (bad this year), Tennessee St. (Not the Vols- the HBCU team), and Central Michigan are 3 of their 4 wins. I’m not sure how to gauge NC State as their other opponent. ND should not be ranked any higher than they are. Once again, the ND bias is kicking in. They do not have a tough schedule. If they want to be judged with others, they need to join a conference and put their money where their mouth is. They will have 2, maybe 3 tough games this year. OSU, USC and maybe Clemson. However, I don’t think Clemson is that good and Duke may give them a better game than Clemson.

To be fair, I think your anti-ND bias is actually at play here. Their schedule up to this point is no better/worse than most teams in Power 5 conferences. Basically the same. Also from this point out they play nothing but Power 5 opponents. Pretty much exactly like being in a conference.
@roaminglion let’s us pile on ND Roam lol
Anti-ND bias never hurt anyone, except the Leprechaun, lol.
@roaminglion True. But the diehard ND fans always pound their chest about their schedule. I know they can’t control when other teams are down, but this schedule isn’t that daunting.

GA will eventually play someone. IMO AL doesn't need more than an average QB typically because they have a dominating line and RB's. This year I suspect the line is not up to standard.
We need to get thru with no more than one loss and the loss to OSU or UM needs to be close. Then maybe just maybe.... the B10East looks to be the toughest conference even with MSU bottom feeding MD looks OK.
That conference is down this year...Unfortunately they don't play anybody worth a lick out of conference so they are gonna play a weak SEC schedule into the playoffs...Georgia is gonna get knocked off in 1st round of the playoffs this year...If Georgia was in the B1G east division they would lose 3 games this year...
@the-funeral-director Nope not this year either. Won"t beat O$U or Mich. Mr. Allar would have some Heisman talk if he played anywhere else. The difference in all of it ....coaching. Good players, but can't put it together when it counts. Actually we have not really played anyone either..
@waytoolong2 I don’t think WV, Illinois and Iowa are gimme games the schedule is very competitive imo

I disagree, Allar doesnt deserve heisman talk yet. His numbers just dont back it up, at all.
Remember, Heisman goes to the "most outstanding" player. Basically, the one who's numbers are so good they stand out.
The Heisman winner isnt necessarily the best player... in fact they are usually far from it.
I woukd definitly say Allar is going to be a high draft pick when he enter the draft though, kid has all the tools.
Allar's numbers aren't pedestrian but they aren't eye popping either...He played one very good defense and one top defense so far...What stands out is he hasn't thrown an interception yet...Is part of that good fortune? Of course...He was fortunate on 4 or 5 throws that he wasn't picked but the bottom line is no interceptions and that is impressive...I don't think he is worthy of any Heisman talk as of now but his maturity and game smarts are very evident and that is impressive as well...This kid is a winner...
