What you are witnessing tonight ladies and gentlemen is EXACTLY what I have been saying for the last 15 years or so...Take these SEC teams away from home and put em in cold weather and they can't play...The northern teams MUST be built for these conditions out of necessity...Tonight you are seeing why they fought hammer and tong against this playoff format...They have gotten exposed...And the worst is yet to come for that fraud conference...We will see who the big dogs are in another week or 2...

Isn’t it fair to say Penn St and Ohio St are just better teams regardless where these 2 games were played today. SMU would lose at home to Penn St and so would Tennessee.

People with a bye, GA for example, still get a warm game or indoor game.  So for the SEC winner nothing changed.  They just were unable to get a home game for TN.  GA and TX are in the normal SEC situation.  Somebody could have gotten ND in the cold round besides their neighbor...

What do you think the game was worth to Columbus or State College?  Millions I bet.

Tennessee has been dominated in every way. You could have played this game on the moon and given Ohio State no oxygen... they still win.

This game kind of makes it look like SMU deserved being in more than AL 🙂  At least as much.

@southern-psu-fan Nope, there’s no doubt in my mind that the weather and atmosphere were huge factors in the SMU vs PSU game.

Notre Dame is going to clock ole limp wrists outfit in the Super Dome...Where they play that game will not matter...Notre Dame is going to crush Georgia...I can't wait to hear ole limp wrist cry and whine...I have said it all year and I stand by it...That conference was overrated...ESPN sold em like a pimp sells $2 hookers...They are exposed now with this playoff format...Now they gotta play other teams and can't play with themselves anymore...

Don't know about GA.  I believe they are the best SEC team but not near as good as I expected based on ESPN/ABC buildup.  They have on at least 2 occasions only played half a game.  Are they missing their QB?  They have to have top recruiting classes.  You really think ND can easily handle them?  I just don't think ND is all that good.

@psujoe absolutely it helped ND, Penn St, Ohio St and Texas being at home but these 4 teams would win these 4 games regardless where the games were played they’re better football teams and better football teams usually win.

I agree Southern.

ND and TX had home field advantage.  PSU and especially OSU had home field and temperature advantage.  I think fields are more or less fields and there is some advantage to not traveling and crowd noise but the cold was probably worth more than home field to OSU.  TN made a poor showing.  SMU may have looked competitive had they not started down 14 or 21.  We have made poorer teams look competitive.

Hey now, let's not demean $2 hookers; they provide a valuable service to humanity.  ----- 2 dollar make ya hollar!

@underlion  Home field did cause these teams to get spanked but the results would be the same regardless where the games are played. The best teams won.

Underlion, the ONLY time I can pull for Ohio State and Michigan is if they’re playing Georgia or if they win it help our cause like this year Michigan beating Ohio State and when Ohio State beat Michigan back in 2016. I don’t pull for any teams if it hurts Penn St or Ga Tech’s cause. When Penn St plays Ga Tech, Ga Tech becomes the enemy 😂

Ummmmm.....ya think?! I never saw a QB that out of sorts as I did with Jennings yesterday.  He is a good QB, but the crowd and the cold just did him in.  Allar wasn't at his best either, but when you train in the cold like he does, you know what to expect.  THAT ball was like throwing an iceberg.  I don't know how far up from the field you were, but when the punters kicked you could just hear how stiff that ball was.....sounded like they were kicking a brick.  And the wind was a factor too.  At one point the orange flags at the top of the of goal posts were blowing away from each other...the North end zone were blowing north and the south end zone were blowing south.  Wasn't even like the wind was swirling.

I am glad I was wrong about the attendance!  I am in WB and the SMU fans were in WA.  They were loud to start, but after the first Pick 6, they got somewhat quiet.  After the second Pick 6........they were non existent the rest of the game.

Fun game to go to! When was the last time Penn State played a home game that they were up 14-0 and didn't score an offensive TD? Or any game for that matter.

GO STATE!!!!
