If Urb is as bad as you say we should have no difficulty writing a contract that allows him to be fired at will for behavioral issues.

Still a deal with the devil....

Oh Ole Cousin Urban is as bad as I say he is...Well unless you think having affairs with Coeds is ok and the whole allowing your "circle of trust" football players terrorize and criminalize a college community by raping college girls, thieving and assaulting at will with no fear of consequences then he is your guy...Percy Harvin, Aaron Hernandez (Yes that Aaron Hernandez) and company literally had a run of the place...As far as what went on all I can say is "let your imagination run wild"...I would be very careful about hiring Ole Cousin Urban...

We need an offensive minded head coach not a defensive minded one like Manny. How many misses have we had at O coordinator over the past ten years? Get an offensive minded guy and keep Knowles for 2 more years would be my plan. I keep hearing and reading more about Hartline moving up to the top of the list and am not  sure if I’m sold on the guy but at least he’s not Rhule or Manny.

@psujoe James Franklin and BOB both were offensive minded coaches. I believe a defensive minded is what we need it’s working at Oregon, Georgia and ND. I’m with you about the OC at Oregon if we go with an offensive minded coach. I do not want the dude from Ohio State.

I get the no love for Rhule thing but Manny I don’t get. He was 21-15 at Miami which is average but that team has been a shit show for the last 20 years. He was 9-4 last year at Duke and is 5-3 this year that’s better than average imo. Elko was 9-4 and he gets praised for it. I’m not hearing anything about manny so it ain’t happening but I believe at Penn St this dude can win a NC and won’t take long either and he dang sure ain’t going to need 2 or 3 years. He brings the QB we would have a chance his first year. The day Manny stepped on the field at Penn St the Defense was as good as any in the country.

James Franklin is nowhere close to a modern day offensive minded head coach. The only reason anyone will hire him is because he’s a good CEO and nothing else.

@southern-psu-fan Going 9-4 and 5-3 in one of the worst conferences in the country is nothing to brag about and if Manny couldn’t win at Miami he’s not doing it at PSU.

@psujoe  me and FD had a conversation about all the teams in Florida stinking it up. It seems nobody can win down there consistently anymore. I don’t believe Miami is even close to the job Penn St is today they need a stadium on their campus and it will get better. In the 80’s and 90’s yes but not today.

A also believe if Manny was the DC of Penn St this year we’d be undefeated and James Franklin would still have a job. What he did at DC would carry over as head coach on the defensive side of the ball. He’d be better on offense day 1 because Penn St has the players just need a head coach that will play the best players baby it ain’t complicated. This team would be undefeated if tom Allen was the coach!

I think the D’line was too small to hold up for the season and LB wasn’t deep enough to make a major push into the playoffs regardless of who was DC with the O being so f’d up, which was obvious as hell after the first three games.

i gotta say this season was either a tank season or the coaches were just incompetent with the players and situation.

I don't believe that either. The secondary is solid to elite but there was a lot of talk that our D'line and linebacker positions were lacking in experience and depth. The offense was supposed to be a much stronger unit than the defense.

I am not sold on Hartline either...I would prefer Brady to Hartline if we are forced to hire a coach with no head coaching experience...I would also keep Knowles around for 2 more years if that is possible and see what he can do...I already told all of you what my plan would be...If my plan would fail my next target would be Brohm from Louisville...My take is if the University is investing 1 billion dollars into stadium and facility renovations it is absolute stupidity not to invest in the coach you want...Trust me if the program wants Cignetti they can get him...Same goes for Brohm...You just roll in and make them an offer they can't refuse and Penn State has the money to do that...

The talk of Bellicheat being the GOAT can be put to rest. What an ugly football game the INC vs Syracuse is and thank God PSU wasn’t dumb enough to hire that miserable old man.

I have said from day one that he was the biggest fraud in the history of coaching and his close buddy and protege' Tricky Nicky Saban is right behind him...Fraud 1 and 1A...Dodge Charger Saban was the college version of Billie Boy Belicheat...

@psujoe Think we can safely say, Fran Brown is no longer in any kind of consideration for PSU too.

Dodged two bullets. Brown and Bellycheat

I'm hoping for Cousin Urbs.  If not, Manny's my man.

@rip  dude thinks Manny would bring in Joe Moorhead or the QB’s coach at Ohio State that played for Penn State as OC. The biggest win is gettin rid of Jim Knowles and AK. AK might be okay if he has a QB that could run his offense.

The last five recruiting classes cover 2021 through 2025. Here is an analysis of each class, using data from recruiting services like 247Sports and On3:

2025 class (overall class ranked No. 15 by 247Sports)
While Penn State's 2025 class was a solid top-15 overall group, it did not feature a single five-star prospect. Defensive commitments include:
  • Defensive backs: Penn State received multiple commitments in the secondary, including one from four-star cornerback Xxavier Thomas.
  • Other key recruits: The class also featured commitments from several highly-rated defensive prospects, but information about the class has been impacted by recent coaching changes.

2024 class (overall class ranked No. 14 by 247Sports)
The defensive recruits in the 2024 class include:
  • Key defensive player: Five-star defensive end Jaylen Harvey was a top-tier recruit in the class.
  • Other defensive players: Additional defensive players include four-star linebacker Sam Stone and four-star safety Kenneth Woseley.

2023 class (overall class ranked No. 14 by 247Sports)
Penn State secured some elite talent on the defensive side in 2023:
  • Key defensive player: Five-star defensive end Jven Williams led the class.
  • Other defensive players: Four-star safety King Mack was one of the more notable commitments.

2022 class (overall class ranked No. 6 by 247Sports)
Penn State had one of its most successful recruiting cycles in 2022, fueled by strong defensive additions.
  • Key defensive player: The class included top defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton.
  • Other defensive players: Key defensive linemen and secondary players contributed to a top-10 overall ranking.

2021 class (overall class ranked No. 21 by 247Sports)
Penn State had a lower-ranked recruiting class in 2021 compared to other years, which also impacted its defensive acquisitions.
  • Top defensive recruit: The class featured four-star linebacker Curtis Jacobs.

we’ve never got that many 5* players on offense or defense.

It’s absolutely unacceptable for NW, UCLA and Iowa to run all over us like they did. I’ll give ya Oregon or Ohio St but the other light weigh team is BS!
