can't believe this, but after watching breakdown, it was a good read by McSorely...and no way coaches could have seen the double stunt coming by the defense....Wannestadt breaks it down properly https://twitter.com/BigTenNetwork/status/1047151741509230593/video/1
Wow, thanks for sharing. Looking at the defensive alignment,it certainly looked that a run up the middle was open as the Def. Tackles and Ends were spread more to the outside of the line.
I still would not have run it. The most potent plays all night were passes and McSorley running on called pass plays when he saw room.
I think Rahne overthought the play and tried to get tricky. 5 yards on a Read/Option that wasn't working all night is a big ask.
All that said, I'm kinda over it anyway. He made a bad call in my opinion, but it happens. I saw on 247 that Ohio State was just rated the #1 talented roster in college football, ahead of Alabama. No shame in losing to them, and our season isn't over. Saban lost to Ole Miss in back to back years, I think losing to OSU back to back isnt' the end of the world.
Lots of football to play. No undefeated team has ever won the College Football Playoff. Alabama last year lost to Auburn and still got in, and so can we. Of course, lots of things need to happen but hey... you never know.
Get over it, all of you. Ohio State won fair and square. Ohio state defense snuffed it out and squashed the game right there. Game over, done. It's evident the fans were not happy on Saturday including the person that questioned the play called as Franklin walked off the field. That's the problem, 110,000 fans, 110000 arm chair coaches that don't know.
I litterally said I'm over it you moron.
After watching the twitter feed that just repeats that play over and over again you are able to focus on which ever player you want to determine how they fared on their 1 on 1 battle. After seeing it - 4 out of 5 linemen missed their guys on that play. Agree with Bill, had Trace kept the ball it would have been a 5 yard loss, his outlet receiver was covered, so only option was Sanders, but when 4 out of 5 linemen miss their guys, a 2 yard loss is what you get!
You’re right Bob. The 2 key blocks that were missed were #71 who let the guy through who stopped Sanders and #52 who missed his block which would have got trace for a loss.
