@forum-titan Hey, it's spring time. Why not go spread your BS on your little veggie garden?
What's the matter?
That's what I'm saying. Look at the big picture overall. How many other coaches do you see relying on the portal strategy? It's not big news. As of now it's just trial and error. OK, so your team landed 5 players from the portal? OK, so what's next? Where is the guarantee playoff spot? If you don't like the players you have recruited then don't play with their heads and mind games.
Blowing it way out of proportion. Franklin is not relying on the portal for anything, we've picked up just about as many as we've lost in the portal. If anything, you could call it roster maintenance at this point.
No, not true. Not blown out of proportion. When this news first broke out it was like the greatest thing since sliced bread. I even recall an article on it if my memory serves me correctly. Franklin even stood out and mentioned it during interview. SB nation and a few other forum members were jumping up and down about this. The crew I have breakfast with talked about this more than once. They also jumped up and down in high praise. Somewhere along the line things may have been blown out of proportion by the media or Franklin.
Take a look at the news now when you search Penn state football news. It's all about the new hire mostly? They labeled him as the guru doctor from Texas. OK, so who is the head coach ? Seems to me like Franklin sits back and let's his staff do all the dirty work. Decides who gets hired and fired if one little thing goes wrong.
BS nonsense, Franklin hasn't built his team from the portal nor has he ever hinted he wanted to do so. Stop acting like he's just not going to do anything else other than beg for portal scraps.

Way off the mark as usual. You got your head so far up your arse you need a periscope to see daylight!!
What Franklin has really said as far back s 2019 and up to present day is:

@forum-titan lol Absolutely nothing, just figured you could use your fertilizer on you garden, 'cause no one here is buying it. Did you get your peas, onions and potatoes in while it was dry?
I saw the word "Stud" in the title and assumed my wife was on here bragging about me.......again. Instead, I read some intelligent posts and a large dose of Suzie's ramblings.
I read on another thread where Sky posts a picture of Homer Simpson farting and titles it to Roam. It appears that I havent missed anything whilst boiling sap into syrup.
Soon after Liberace's death he approached St Peter at the Pearly Gates. As Peter was reading Liberace's life history he said: "Liberace, it says here that you once kissed a parakeet". To which Liberace replied, " no sir, I may have licked a cockatoo but I never kissed a parakeet!!".
I'll show myself out and take my impending 2 week "fishing trip" punishment like a man. That joke was an oldie but goodie that just popped into my head.
@tsuga Kinda reminds me of Sir Elton John. That man can PLAY a piano! ...but he sucks on an organ.
@been-there-ii: Well done!!! I'll wait for you on the dock. Bring FT, I understand he's a master baiter. We cant use Sky's boat, I heard he has a small dinghy.
@tsuga man your an a roll!!! LOL!!
@been-there-ii: Why does FT remind me of Mr Lipid??
@navylion: I got nothing else to do!!! Sap season is done. Ice is breaking up on the lakes and the streams are running WAY too high to fish right now. My hip has been killing me the past few weeks so I cant go out to look for sheds....what's a fella to do??
TheKid's wife is doing a 6 week internship down at Barbara Bush Hospital in Portland so he and the boys have been hanging out up here thru the week and then spending time with her on the weekends so I'm getting to spend quality time with them.
@tsuga enjoy the slack time with the grand kids!! I know I have been!! Me and my grandson have been out fishing. Was out last Saturday fishing off a friends a dock on the St Johns river. We caught some catfish and an alligator gar and some bass. We're going out on a boat this Saturday. Hope to catch some flounder and red drum. And if we don't I'll just enjoy the day with him and my buddy who is going!!
Hey so how much syrup do you usually get? Is it only 1 time a year when you could get it? Man I would love to be able to do stuff like that!!
@navylion: On average it takes about 35-45 gallons of sap to make a gallon of syrup. On a good year I can get 15-20 gallons boiled off, this year I did 9 1/2 gallons.
Typically, what you want are cold nights below freezing, and warm sunny days in the 40's to get the sap flowing. The sap will recede back down the tree at night and when the temps warm, the process begins all over again. Once the temps stay above freezing day and night for a spell, the season is pretty much over. Up here, all hell broke loose at the end of Feb and it looked like it was going to be a fantastic season. We had one week of boom and pretty much so-so until I pulled the plug last week. My wife and I keep about 3-4 gallons for ourselves and I give the rest away to some of the folks in need up here. It was pretty cool having my grandson and g-grandsons up here for the boiling. Honestly, TheKid is more of a PITA then his sons are, but that's just between you and me.
Our fishing season starts tomorrow but its not very likely that I'll get out until the streams recede a bit more.
It just occurred to me. This "Stud" that you speak of is from Memphis. Memphis is in Tennessee. Does that not make him "The Tennessee Stud"??
Somebody told me you burn off as many calories during sex as you do running 8 miles. I think you have some work to do,Tsuga! No way YOU can run 8 miles in 30 seconds!!
Just laugh! That's about as good as I can do!

I like your mindset Tsugar. Motivated, nothing stops you. Keep it up. Keep moving.

How many players from the portal this year did he grab?
Five. That's it. FIVE.
We've lost 7 through the portal, should we just not try to replace their roster spots? Or is this what you call "building the team through the portal"?
BTW, Alabama has lost 5 in the portal.... so it's not like this is out of the ordinary. The only difference is Alabama and SEC teams oversign and greyshirt, so they can more easily fill the roster spots.
Tsuga, so are the great grandkids big enough to walk in the woods? If so, problem solved! You can sit on your fav mode of transportation and supervise the little shed hunters!
I like the transfer portal it lets guys not good enough to play go somewhere else where they might be good enough to play plus there’s other reason as well. It may take a few years but it will make college football better and more competitive as long as all teams are playing by the same rules. Change with the times or you’ll get left behind brother and then you’ll stay mad all the time lol...BTW I didn’t give into the electric car I bought my lovely wife a gas loving Lincoln Navigator baby AOC will have to wait and get ole southern next time 😝

AOC is gonna get you! ROTFLMAO
@been-there-ii: Well......they may get turned around and lost in the swamps and bogs up here and if they did, TheKid would kick my ass and then when he was done, his wife would extract her pound of flesh from my hide, and of course the Mrs would bat clean-up and stomp me into a mud-hole. Damn good idea on paper though!!!!
@tsuga Oh well. Gotta love those good in theory vs practical application ideas.

Tsuga...Do you think the mysterious decline in honey bees has affected the maple syrup output in Maine this year?
I'm joking (or am I?)
@mtnittanylion: #30 seconds total?? 3 X 10 =30. There's no way I can have sex 3 times a night. I'm too old for that crap anymore
