The Michigan State Run Defense is currently 27th in the nation but only because they held Tulsa to -73 rush yards in the first game. For games 2-5 they gave up 67 yards to Western Michigan, 76 Yards to Arizona State, 109 yards to Northwestern and 70 yards to Indiana. Of those teams, Western Michigan has the highest national run offense ranking at #48 and Northwestern is the next highest at #83. During the last two games, Sparty gave up 323 rush yards to Ohio State and 222 to Wussconsin.
The Penn State rush offense should have a good day today given the threat of Hamler going deep. Hopefully, Dotson, Shorter or Chisena will also step up and become deep threats.
Hopefully Clifford runs through his progression and finds the open man.
Hopefully we'll see more of Cain!
SO what is a good run day? 250 with 50 max to QB?
Bad is 150?
