Here's ESPN's college football top-25 future overall power rankings (Next 3 years). It's described as:
"After examining quarterbacks, defenses and offenses, this list projects the top 25 teams for the next three seasons. The forecast covers the 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons, and factors in both current rosters and future recruiting classes, as well as coaching, program trajectory and other categories."
- Clemson
- Ohio State
- Alabama
- Georgia
- LSU
- Oklahoma
- Florida
- Oregon
- Notre Dame
- Penn State
While I like seeing Penn State in the top 10, I think we're a bit low and the SEC is over represented. I probably slot us more like 7, placing Florida, Oregon, and Notre Dame behind us. I actually think LSU will take a big step back too, but they won the NC so benefit of the doubt.
For those wondering, other Big Ten squads on the list were: #13 Wisconsin, #18 Michigan, #22 Minnesota, and #23 Iowa.
I see us at #5 maybe #6. LSU, Oklahoma and Georgia will have new QB’s
It's pretty hard to project this type of list given the 2 big wild card factors: transfer portal and players leaving early for the NFL. I guess it's a fun exercise though. Better than talking Corona virus stats!
The ESPN conference is over represented? I'd have taken that bet.
But so is the NBC conference 🙂
I don’t think the big 10 is there yet but it’s catching up with the SEC. with the big 10 gettin better coaches they are keeping more kids at home and recruiting the south better. I noticed all the big 10 teams in the top 25
"Talk the Talk, Walk the walk "
They should have a good record at seasons end. Ohio state wins B10
