Big trouble down south for Moorhead...hot seat trouble...plus he basically jumped from one frying pan to another. Stevens out....and several here called it: Garrett is going to start and Tommy is going to back up based on what we’ve seen the past few weeks and both guys dealing with injuries, Garrett leading us to the win over Kentucky and providing a spark against Tennessee,” said Moorhead. “Tommy is still not completely over some of his things (injuries) right now.
Stevens is just one of those guys who can't seem to stay healthy. Wish he could, it would have been nice to see what he was capable of.
Alas, not gonna happen.
As for Moorhead, injuries have really hampered MSU this year... but that loss to UT was bad. If he can get to 7-5 I think he will get another year.
Tennessee has the players to step up and beat anybody. Tennessee just has bad coaching. Mississippi State would be stupid to fire Moorhead after 2 years especially if they’ve had injuries. Mississippi State isn’t getting pounded every week they lost 20-10 gimme a break lol. People want to always fire the coach first ask questions later. Sometimes things aren’t all that bad you just might have a QB problem like we did during the early 2000’s. Fix the QB position and usually that goes a long way.
That very topic is on the forum's agenda to discuss but we have more pressing matters to resolve. Such as, the BCS scam committee, the media's bias towards all things SEC, Alabama's cupcake schedule, and whether or not Urban Meyer played hide the weenie with a 21 year old. By the looks of things, we wont be discussing Moorhead/Stevens until spring of 2021.
I’m not sure what MSU’s expectations were. They simply aren’t going to get the talent the rest of the SEC’s teams get for starters let alone debth. I would agree with southern, 2 years at the helm just isn’t long enough unless they already have someone in their pocket.
When Coach Moorhead had Barkley and receivers that could catch, he was an offensive genius. Mississippians will always consider the guy that played and coached in the Bronx, a Yankee. I agree with Roam, if Mississippi State can finish 7-5, he will get another shot.

I'd go a bit easy on people of Mississippi, considering they never considered Mullen a Yankee and want him back dearly. He grew up in New Hampshire and went to school in PA and NYC. LOL
I heard that Bob Shoop wants to stay at Miss ST forever and ever and ever.... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Remember Nick Saban saying “I will not be the next head coach at Alabama “ he took the job shortly after that lol
LMAO
aaand just like that Moorhead to Rutgers looks like it will happen
Seems crazy not to give him 3 plus years. Who do they think they are? Mississippi doesn't average top 15 in recruiting and he has injuries and he is playing with the prior coaches players that may not fit his system. He had a chance of getting lucky with Stevens but no such luck. What State does Mississippi make fun of? Oklahoma? Arkansas?
Rutgers may be better than Mississippi if they are too dumb to give him more than 2 years.
Can Rutgers afford him or will he agree to a pay cut is my big question.
Rutgers was paying Chris Ash 2.3 million, and paid 9 million more to buy him out. Joe Moorhead makes 3.1 million at Mississippi State, and his buyout would be around 1.9 million.
Suffice to say, yes Rutgers can easily afford him. Especially since their revenue grows every year, and in 2021 they will be full partners in the Big Ten and get all of that cash.
The only question is if Joe Moorhead wants to leave Mississippi State. I mean, he'd basically be leaving the team that's usually in the 7-5 & 8-4 range for a team that's lucky to win three games a year. In a division with Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State

Yes but he won and that held back the Confederates.
NJ.com has Moorhead a leading candidate for the Rutgers job.

Thanks for the info, Roam. I didn't know Rutgers was rolling in the dough. Maybe JoMo will come back north then 🤔
Southern, I hear those guys paint houses too!

Paint houses, wetwork... same difference
I wouldn't talk negatively about New Jersey or Rutgers.

Sky, you are a very strange individual. Second time now you've posted a pic insinuating death to a lion. Just strange.
