Here we go, the guy who says results on the field matter but then talks about NCs from 6 years ago when Clemson had Desaun Watson, or 3-4 years ago with Trevor Lawrence as reasons they should be in the CFP today.

@roaminglion I’m pointing out the ACC does compete when they get in the playoffs when the PAC and especially the big 12 get killed. I believe 05 was the last time the big 12 won a NC. May be longer for the PAC probably the great Pete Carroll era. The ACC, SECand big 10 at least show up and win one

Have they discussed the time table yet as far as ... will the first round of these playoffs start the same weekend these Championship games happen, and then keep happening weekly until we are down to two teams?? I would hate for timely layoff before the playoffs start - if you get hot near the end of the season, you can ride that good play into a National Championship

It’s backed up by his personal feelings that only teams wearing certain helmets can be good and if those teams aren’t at the top of their conference standings it means the conference “is down”. If I remember right there’s only been one team from the ACC in the playoff it’s unrealistic to say the “conference holds it’s own”. No team in the country has had an easier path to undefeated season or playoff berths than the Tigers and it’s because in the ACC it’s them and nobody else.

That’s exactly what FD and I have been trying to tell him for years. I really don’t know why he wants a 12 team playoff because if it was up to him he’d put the same 4-6 teams in every year.

Too much money made on these games plus they serve as a quasi playoff game. My hunch is conference championship games are here to stay.
