Bryson Williams
I know they keep talking about Rocco at QB but I just don't see not developing our current QB who has three years when we must assume next year is a 'developmental transitional year'. I suppose it is true we could make the playoffs next year but that is best case even with the 'reasonable' schedule we have. I just don't see not developing Grunk in 2026. Do we need more depth? Yes. Can you sell Grunk it would be a true competition?
How did my response get deleted? Someone's a mod that we don't know about?
Ooops , Ignore my prior post. I see now that this is a new thread and not the same one I responded to earlier.
Losing the 2026 Class isn't a disaster with NIL and it means MC can manage his resources and load up in 2027/2028. This was not a short term play IMO. The Admin doesn't want to flip coaches.
And there is something to be said for 'if you don't want to compete for a job you don't belong here'.
Is it fair to assume for the most part that players suiting up for the Pinstripe Bowl will stay?
This job is Grunks to lose in my opinion...I saw that kid from Iowa State play and he ain't no Grunk...He had the benefit of a coaching staff that develops QB's...Give this kid Grunk some coaching and he is going to be one of the top QB's in college football and a Heisman candidate before it is all said and done...He has the physical tools along with a feel for the game...I am excited to see what this coaching staff does with this kid in the next 2 to 3 years...I ain't worried about our QB situation for the next 2 years because of this kid is the real McCoy...
AT 1:09 they have a list of commits
@the-funeral-director Peyton Falzone is coming in the 2026 class too and is going to be a good one.

You are going to see this program go from shambles to a hot commodity all of a sudden because of this coaching hire...2 weeks ago he was all but gone...I grew up in that area and know that school well...this is only the beginning Homer...By the time the portal closes and the signings are done he is going to have a top flight roster...I am very excited to see what this guy does in the next 2 to 3 years...
@the-funeral-director next years schedule is allegedly soft so there’s apparently a chance for early success but he needs to start bringing in PSU level players not just 3 star ISU guys.
He will be bringing in portal players Homer...I have faith in this guy...He knows what he is doing...
There should be portal players from ISU, UM, VT and anywhere else that has had a coaching change. Need to get value like the Oakland A's and Moneyball. He clearly wants tougher players not necessarily 5*. Hack is pretty clear that he believes the players were rated but not tough/winners ('violent football players'). This is his opinion before we get a coach from a different culture. I think Hack has some valid thoughts, not sure how informed he was.
I’m sure it will change and we gotta give the man some time but as of today all we see is going after Iowa St players. It’s just been a week so that’s probably the only thing he can get done right now. I’m pretty confident that MC knows we can’t beat Ohio St our fair share unless we recruit top 10.
@southern-psu-fan Patience Brother! Don't just be throwing NIL $ around willy-nilly. My Momma told me, Ya better shop around.
@been-there-ii absolutely! Just knowing we ain’t gettin Lincoln Riley, the BYU coach and Jim Knowles shown the door gives me 100% faith that good things are happening with Penn St football. We’re in good hands baby.

Don't worry Southern. The first 3 weeks of 2026 season will be a cake walk for Campbell. He'll have things figured out just in time for Michigan.
Quick question for the forum...How many 5* players does Cignetti have at Indiana? How many 4* does he have there? He does ok...I ain't worried about it...This is about coaching and culture...I am excited to see what this new coach brings with him...I am willing to give him a couple of years to see how he does...I think the guy is going to make Penn State elite again...
Seems Connor and Poindexter are expected to stay but I see nothing 'official'. McSorely, role unknown.
Stars at IU? Don't know but the narrative that MC Coached up 3*'s at ISU so surely he can coach up 4 and 5* recruits at PSU has limited validity. I propose that 3*'s are easier to coach up because they have not learned to live on physical gifts as much as higher rated recruits. Plus the population curve tells us there are lots of 3*'s to choose from to find coachable whereas there just are not that many 5*s. I expect that MC's recruiting classes will be lower than what we expected from JF but they will be the right guys with Mc Moxie. But as we noted winning and NIL should get him where we are used to. I expect as close to a JoePa culture as is possible. My memory is poor but I don't remember many great classes from Joe. Maybe after the NC and 95 but not normally.
No new recruit news?
If you're right about the JoePa culture you gave me an early Christmas present! Hope Santa is good to you too!!
McSorley was a 3* Vanderbilt guy@the-funeral-director next years schedule is allegedly soft so there’s apparently a chance for early success but he needs to start bringing in PSU level players not just 3 star ISU guys.
Iowa State Tyrell Chatman CB/Safety from Nebraska 6'2" 10.7sec 100. Some interest from MN, WI, NW. Guessing 3*
Iowa State Bryson Williams 6'4" 10.8 sec 100 Safety
Lucas Penbrock Punter 6'6" #5 punter or #1 Sailor Punter from Illinois.
Peyton Falzone QB, Project?
