@roaminglion the DE was a huge get considering who was recruiting him. Both were in the same post so maybe I should’ve been a little clearer on that, my bad.
when it said big time recruits I copied that of Pennlive and posted it here i didn’t write that lol. I can’t post articles so I have to copy what I think ya’ll want to know on who we pick up.
Got it... I was a bit confused as to why Kentucky was Big Time. LMAO, they gotta get clicks!when it said big time recruits I copied that of Pennlive and posted it here i didn’t write that lol. I can’t post articles so I have to copy what I think ya’ll want to know on who we pick up.
I stand corrected, we do have a few 4 & 5 star O linemen.
Another high priority recruit committed elsewhere today. Expect another 2nd-3rd level recruit commitment this weekend to make up for it. We better win big this season because our recruiting classes of the past couple years haven’t been ones that are going to have us consistently competing with the big dogs and the 2026 class is probably going to finish 4th best in the B1G at best.
@psujoe I’m not in the camp of win the NC or it’s a bust season but we have to beat Oregon or Ohio St and get in the playoffs and win a game or 2 hopefully win the big 10 or NC. Show a lot of improvement on beating the heavyweights. I believe we can get it done if the OC will run what is working and stop all the tricky hotdog plays. If the run is working run it down their throats until it’s stopped that wears the defense down I don’t care if we run the ball 50 straight times run it until the other teams stops it. We got a dam good football team but AK ain’t done shit that Yurcich didn’t do, get a big win and get that we can’t win the big game shit off our backs I’m tired of it. It’s year 11 it’s time to get it done against the big boys!
@southern-psu-fan This season could be the defining moment for JF. He had a chance to take the program to elite status in 2017- 2018 but failed miserably and I’m not sure he can recover and get another opportunity again.
I meant I’m not sure if he can recover and get another opportunity again if he fails this year.
The Fourth of July brings recruiting fireworks each year, and while some may be on the horizon this weekend for Penn State, another top-tier prospect has chosen to go elsewhere a day before the holiday.Five-star offensive lineman Immanuel Iheanacho committed to Oregon’s 2026 class Thursday. He made his announcement on the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN.
we missed out on this dude but if James Franklin doesn’t have the money it’s going to be tough to get these 5* players. Oregon probably has as much money as any school out there. The article is on pennlive
What a sad state of affairs you left us with JoePa.
@southern-psu-fan that’s who I was referring to in my earlier post but didn’t feel like naming him.
If you listen to the whole thing it puts things in perspective which is a good thing imo…but also imo we gotta wins our fair share of big games. It’s a very good podcast yall will enjoy it. Let’s go Penn St football less than 2 months before kickoff 😁🇺🇸🍺 He explains why we lost the last 3 big time recruits and tells what studs we got coming in 2027. It’s good
@southern-psu-fan trying to make us feel better by talking about verbal commitments that have over 1.5 years to change their minds is pointless.
@psujoe from what the dude says we don’t have many to change their minds but it’s definitely possible these could so we better kick some ass this year. Just win and everything else will fall in line.
IMO this is a huge year for James Franklin and Penn State football. We got the studs to win it all.
@southern-psu-fan Marlin Bright is a 3 star and a project that most likely won’t see any playing time for 2-3 years. He’s the guy I was talking about when I said we’d be taking a 3 star since we lost out on the 5 star. There was supposed to be another commitment today but I’m not sure if it happened.
Lot of noise today with Penn St football 🏈 😂
Things obviously have changed since back in 1979 and 1980 when I was recruited...I honestly believe in the vast majority of these recruitments it comes down to money...This 5 star kid got over 5 million dollars...I have no idea what the budgets are for these teams...I can see why Andrew Luck took over as the "GM" at Stanford...With 80 man rosters or whatever they are now you are going to need a 40 million dollar plus NIL budget just to be competitive...I mean A&M gave this kid 5.1 million...He is one player...Who is to say this kid plays a year and says I don't like it here I am gonna hit the portal? For me it is about winning...Penn State wins this year they will get these players with one caveat...They are going to have to pony up the money...It appears that most of their NIL budget is tied up with the current stars they have...Once those guys leave they will loosen up that money to give to the next group...I always keep this in mind when these evaluations (stars) are given out...Look at the NFL...Look at their bust rates...When it comes to QB evaluations they have a terrible track record...If I was running one of these programs I would make sure I kept the kids that pan out and pay them and identify portal targets and put my money into proven players rather than shooting at dart boards with these kids coming in out of high school...The new dynamic now is not only winning but putting up the money as well...This is professional football without a salary cap...
@the-funeral-director need to get a school salary cap with NIL and pay all the athletes at the schools the same amount of money. This way the scholarships are still important and no I’m not a communist these are supposed to be student athletes, share the pie baby 😁
If all schools in power 4 are playing by the same rules with scholarships and NIL money its keeps college sports competitive and fair just like the 85 scholarship rules did in the past. No salary cap has a bad ending.
