I saw Franklin say his RB rotation is 2 series for the starter, then alternating between each backup after that meaning Brown 2 series, then Slade, then Brown, then Cain, then Brown, and then Ford and so on. This confirms my suspicions that the coaches are trying to be too cute with the players, seemingly trying to keep everyone happy.

Seriously, they need to knock this crap off. There's a saying that when you have 2 QBs, you actually have none... Which basically means pick one, because alternating between two doesn't work and alienates both. Same thing with RBs IMO. By trying to please everyone, I can't imagine any of them is happy. This is taking running back by committee to a ridiculous level.

I think the coaches are outsmarting themselves and overthinking it. They know who the starters are, but are so paranoid about injuries and depth that they simply won't allow the starters to play and develop as a unit. There's always some other guy in, and it's just not conducive to consistentcy as a team.

Stop being cute. Stop trying to outsmart everyone. There's a reason most teams don't rotate players like this, you haven't come up with a unique idea... just a bad idea. Leave the starters in, stop this nonsense.

I agree Roam, I like to see the starting RB get 20 to 30 touches a game just depends on how close the score is rather it’s running or catching the ball.

Id give Cain 15 touches a game, Brown 10 touches and a few each for Slade and Ford.

The thing is you aren't going to be able to keep all 4 anyway, not in today's world. Odds are at least one of them is going to transfer, IMO Slade. Unless he stops fumbling and gaining more than 1.8 YPC, he shouldn't be our RB.

So let him go, stop trying to keep him happy in hopes he won't leave. The depth will take it hit, so be it. Journey Brown is a RS Sophmore, Cain is at True Freshman, and if you RS Ford this year that gives you a nice spread of RBs to work with next year (Jr, Soph, Fr). Slade just doesn't figure into things as they stand now.

IMO EVERY series for the starter, spell him when he gets gassed and in special situations.  And when we're in garbage time.
