Man if this is all we got we’re in big trouble. For Roberson not to play 1 snap tells me he just ain’t got it. He’s a 4* QB but so is Clifford. I don’t know about y’all but I ain’t feeling it with the RB’s either they look slow with not much power. I know they’re backups but Brown is done and Cain can’t stay healthy so this is what we’ve got. I personally think Holmes is the best but I guess not because he doesn’t  get many touches. We’re 0-5 for a reason and we’ve got a lot of problems on both sides of the ball. Maybe the team just doesn’t care and they’ve quit which is a bad thing but it could be the best thing because that would mean we’re better than 0-5 but I just ain’t seeing it I just ain’t seeing any play makers that make a difference on either side of the ball. What we see with Pry is what we’ve got and IMO he needs to be gone after this year. Man this stinks. I just ain’t seen anything to make me think it’ll be better next year hope I’m wrong.

Yes, they have a major problem at QB and I just don't see how this is going to get better for next year.  The Oline was supposed to be very good and they are average at best.  I don't know what to make of the defense. I think most of it has do with the DC and his inability to develop young players.  I don't think you can come down on the Running backs. None of them thought they would be playing much, so I think we have to give them some lead way.

Franklin?  Man, I have never seen a coach on the sidelines for 5 straight games with their arms crossed.  If he soon doesn't do something about that, his arms are going to be permanently fixated that way!

Guess we just have to be fans and hope these young players are getting valuable playing time and experience.

Go STATE!

I couldn't agree more with your analysis of the QB & RB situation, Southern.  I also believe Franklin needs to take a hard look at his coaching staff.  I think Pry has to go. The defense is static, with no signs of improvement.  I know people have been offering excuses about the OC, but I just don't think he has it.  A competent OC can get the job done if he has all the horses, but it takes a really good coach to get the most out of the players he has.  IMO this guy just hasn't been able to do that.  In addition, Franklin needs assistant coaches who stress the fundamentals such as tackling, blocking, catching, etc.  The fact that no other PSU football team has started out 0-5 speaks volumes regarding the quality of this year's team.  Yes, I think the kids have quit.  Allowing this to happen is squarely on James. It's more than disappointing, it's downright embarrassing.

@mtnittanylion. Just my opinion but when we recruit a RB I do expect them to compete to play right away because RB’s get hurt and leave early for the NFL so if Penn State recruits a RB he better be ready to step in and play. RB’s ain’t a position that takes a year or 2 to develop coaches have to recruit players ready to play right now. QB’s, OL and DL take time but WR’s and RB’s that are good can step in and play right away. Holmes looks like a kid that can play at a high level from what I see. I know they’re trying but Penn State is big boy football where’s studs come to play.

The problem is not the QBs it's the system. Put Clifford under center with 2 RBs behind him. Scrap the RPO and let the Big Guys run block. This offense blows. Done to death.

Crossed arms body language:

Crossed arms can have a variety of meanings. "For many, and this can often be the case, the perception is that arm crossing means we are feeling anxious, resistant, tense, insecure, afraid, or responding to distress.
