Looking at each teams schedule you see a....

Minnesota team that has not faced a defense ranked in the top 40... With the exception of Georgia Southern at 42 the rest are ranked 67 or worse.  Minnesota will face the number 9 defense in the country, that is 33 spots higher than any team they faced.

PSU has faced 5 teams ranked in the top 20 and 3 of those are in the top 10.   PSU will face the 13th ranked defense Saturday which is inline with what they have seen but it looks like that is a product of Minnesota schedule.

Offensively neither team has seen the best of any offense with Minnesota facing on average the 94th ranked offensive teams while PSU has played on average the 90th ranked offensive teams.

My gut is that we are better than #9 in Defense.

I also suspect we have played significantly better offenses than Minnesota so the 94 to 90 comparison is suspect.

Lots of data isn't really that useful except for the talking heads to make this the second best game happening tomorrow.  Minnesota is a Cinderella Story this year, ESPN is promoting how good the coach has done, that it will be a more hostile environment than Iowa, first time 8-0 since Minnesota won the NC, only 8th time two undefeated Big ten have played with records of 8-0 or better, etc etc.

It shouldn't be a game if we wake up and have electric at the hotel?  Maybe a game thru halftime as we play conservative.

High of 41 scattered showers, I'd rather it not rain but it shouldn't matter.

I agree Underlion, if we are what we think we are we need to put Minnesota away. IMO we should win this game by 21+

If we play like we are capable of, should be no contest.

Rank of offenses that PSU played:96-88-86-89-81-82-108

Rank of offenses that Minn played:60-116-89-114-60-126-86

I think PSU wins by 14... If the DB's can lock down that WR core it might be more.

I hope so... If we can win by one it still counts as a W over the #17 team in the country.  Just win...

ESPN PTI Guys saying Minny can beat us.  They make it sound like a toss up and then backoff to 'have a chance'.

'A chance if they can keep QB upright and contain Hamler', define contain.  So they have good receivers and if the QB has all day they will do OK.

And without Chase Young OSU goes from 1 to 4, Blah, Blah, Blah.

And AL can lose and still be in the chase if they lose close and Tua looks hurt (committee takes into account injuries) because they will beat Auburn and Auburn will beat Oregon (they forgot Oregon had several starters not play in that game?)
