Man James Franklin is killing it Hawaii in recruiting. I’m gettin that feeling I had back in 05 and 2016 I’m feeling a great season on the way lot of great things happening with Penn State football right now lot of momentum with recruiting and that 4 game win streak we had ending the season last year.

Yeah Southern, Franklin is on a bit of a recruiting hot streak this month. The number one offensive lineman in the 2023 class just committed the other day.
JBNelson is the #2 nationally, #2 position and #1 in the state of PA and he’s a 3* recruit I’m kind of thinking he should be at least a 4* probably 5*. Is something up with this dude or what he looks to be an elite player? He’s an OT and I’m looking on 247 sports recruiting
He's a junior college player so those rankings you're talking about are junior college only.
@southern-psu-fan FYI the #1 recruit in PA is Enai White and we're not even in his final 5.
Jf is doing a very good job in state but the outlook isn't as rosy as it was a couple weeks ago..
SC and Rutgers have stolen some of the momentum and are now favored to land a few that were once PSU locks
Franklin and the assistants are doing an OUTSTANDING job this recruiting cycle. Pretty hard to argue with this:

Hard to argue with this also?
And then there is this:
As for the recruits you say are going to SC, PSU backed off their pursuit a bit of those two after getting them on campus to work them out or seeing them in other camps. The kid that just committed to Rutgers over PSU is a NYC kid that wanted to stay close to home. PSU still has several highly regarded prospects out there. The problem now is they are up to 20 kids and they may have more kids wanting to come to PSU than PSU has spots available. It’s a good problem to have. Penn State is doing just fine.
WE ARE…..
@lionbacker99 argue? I'm not arguing but they've lost ground with the remaining in state uncommitted recruits from where they were a couple weeks ago and if you'd be following along you'd already know that..
He's done an outstanding job this year and definitely a step forward compared to last year but SC and loseRU coming in and stealing top 10 recruits is ridiculous.
Hopefully the DDS crystal ball prediction holds up on Thursday. We are fighting Georgia for this one and he is a huge get. Enai White is an in state loss but DDS would more than make up for it. The only other in state loss of note that I can think of is K Nelson and I’ve seen from other outlet chatter that PSU had cooled on him. Who knows but the bottom line is no matter how you slice it, JF is doing extremely well right now and I could mention about at least 110 other schools that would love to be in the recruiting position as PSU right now…if it holds up of course.

Moses Walker is an excellent get for Rutgers but he’s not top 10. As 99 pointed out to he is from NY and Schiano is a good coach so they will get some of these guys now. Of course my biased side thinks we should always get these guys too.

If you actually followed recruiting, you’d realize that PSU backed off on the kids you are referencing because they have other kids ranked higher. They didn’t lose ground. Nelson has questions about his speed as a CB. Rumors are that he refuses to participate in the timed drills at the camps he has attended this summer, which has lead to some teams backing off of him (including PSU). Brubaker is a legacy recruit, but, supposedly after getting him to campus for a workout, PSU felt there were other kids better and pursued them stronger. If you’d followed along, you would know that
Walker is a great get for Rutgers, but Rutgers is Rutgers until they prove otherwise.
PSU has 5 of the top 10 PA recruits with LB Abdul Carter still in play for 6 of the top 10. Not too shabby.
@lionbacker99 yeah 99, I’ve read the same things about Nelson.
When PSU backed off Nelson, their top 2 targets at CB were Jordan Allen from Louisiana (who committed to PSU today) and Cam Miller from FL. They also have a great shot at getting Christian Driver (Ex Packer Donald Driver’s son) and Kevin Winston from MD. Both are safeties. Dani Dennis Sutton would be the crown jewel of this recruiting class if Franklin reels him in next week. He’s an elite DE from MD and is thought to be favoring PSU. It’s between PSU and UGA at this point. But I guess I haven’t really be following along?
Another very cogent point Lionbacker...The one thing you can't knock Franklin on is recruiting...If this class holds he will have one of he best recruiting years Penn State has ever had...
24/7 reranked recruits. Several PSU recruits jumped up significantly in the rankings, including Singleton who is now ranked the top RB in the country. PSU also now has the 4 of the top 5 PA recruits and 7 of the top 13 PA recruits. Notice a few who several criticized PSU for not getting dropped significantly in the rankings and is now listed as a safety.

Nelson dropped over 100 spots in the National rankings.
Nelson is also now listed as a safety not a CB.
This might be James Franklin best recruiting class ever 99 I can’t wait to see these 2 stud RB’s play on Saturday and they probably will play as true freshman. Thanks for all the info 99
