Clearly becoming obvious that on a positive note the portal is a good thing for some players who are good enough to get playing time but don't. Whether it be doghouse, personality mix, coaches preference, lack of complimentary personnel e.g. kick ass receiver with no QB and vice versa, the door is now open for those players to find a new home and hopefully make the best of it. I would think a major outcome will be depth at positions because theoretically a coach won't be able to horde the best unless players just flat out want to play for that coach or that school.

It may very well be the starting of the end of what we currently know as dynasty football.

Remember when teams would take players just so other teams didn't get them.  Those days are done

Would that be what I understand was the unlimited scholarship days of Bear?

Yea, I think St Nick saw the writing on the wall....he was not going to be able to keep a team that averaged 4.5 stars with his NIL budget and they would not sit in waiting with the portal.  He no longer could sell, we don't play school, we will play for a NC and I will get you into the NFL...  The boys said 'show me the $' and I'll take some playing time so long as it works for me....

And so as not to insult anyone too much, lets just say that Nick may be the best example but there are many more that have a similar problem.  Times have changed with the emasculated NCAA but I must ask why I say emasculated. that suggests someone did it to them.  They did it to themselves and maybe the Sandusky fiasco was part of it.

Hey, just a working theory 😎

Don't worry, we will make the Superconference that will create its own SEC/OSU Rules....

I think it will be interesting to see how NIL plays out on the NFL draft and NFL rookie salaries, as now some players can make more money by staying in school than being drafted, especially if a player can get 6 years playing time, e.g. a guaranteed 1-2 years of collegiate pay could very well be more with less risk than jumping to draft and simply picking up an additional year or two of NIL money. This could be a win win for a potential NFL 2nd/3rd/get cut or academic player. What will follow is rules on collegian eligibility, and that will apply to basketball as well.

You're not wrong 61.

Mediocre gymnasts making more $ than the best gymnasts....why?  You know.

If you create a superconference with no NCAA Rules then they can have more years...they can play football until the semester after they get a degree 🤔   Maybe they can work on a masters then.....

So you have the professional superconference, the semipro other conferences, the junior college prep league and the Ivy League.  Are the Ivy's doing NIL?  Or are they just students like the old days?

How do we get NIL Porn stars into title 5 scholarships?  There has to be a market?  I mean they are just doing it for college $ so they can be MD's right?

Yea, I'm laughing at the system.
