I know this will never happen, but heck, you never know. I think the NIT idea is the most intriguing Something needs to be done about non tournament bowl games morphing into exhibitions.
Lets face it...Most of the NFL bound players opt out of these meaningless bowl exhibitions...They are in no way indicative of how good a football team was during the course of the season...It's a glorified vacation trip for many of these teams...I know years back it was pitched that each bowl game become a playoff game...Lord knows you have enough games...In a 16 team playoff system you have 15 games so assign 15 bowl games to the playoff system and if there is an appetite from the conferences to expand to an NIT bowl playoff with another 16 teams so be it...
