Overheard rumblings across the hall, but not sure. Something about transferring to PITT. Transfer portal out of control.

Absolutely means nothing...He's graduated and was never in play for any playing time at safety.
I'm guessing Duzzi will just be using the kid to try and gain some type of edge.

Former Pittsburgh High School standout going back to his roots, hope he earns his Masters degree and goes on to good things.
That said, the transfer portal needs to be locked down, it's insane to have it available all year. IMO if a kid takes part in spring practices, he should not be able to transfer until the next year. Any decision to transfer can be made before the final signing day.
I disagree. It doesn't need to be locked down. We're talking about kids, 18-22 years old. They are doing what is best for them.

18 to 22 year olds aren't kids, they are adults. We can give them options, but it doesn't need to be a free for all.
This is exactly why kids are so damn entitled today, people just want to allow them to do anything with no rules whatsoever. Going to college to play football isn't a right, it's a privilege and the schools should have the right to hold someone accountable for their commitment. Not for all 4 years, but at lease for a damned season.

They have an option to make a choice whats best for them before camp starts... They can put themselves in the portal before that if they feel they need to if not they are locked into the season and when the portal open after the season they can jump in. Also 18-22 year olds are not kids, tired excuse.

Hold them accountable for their commitment? Ok, something isn't going right them or they find themselves not happy. So, let's punish them and make them wait because they found another opportunity.

Yeah, it's such a terrible punishment to have them play football on scholarship for one whole season. I mean, just so horrible that a kid who decided to go to a school for free in exchange for playing football has to show up for 16 whole weeks. The agony!
If this is the type of punishment you feel is so horrible, these "kids" are in for one heck of a rude awakening when they have to go to work for a living.
Give me a break. No one is saying they can't transfer, but if you can't make up your mind about it before spring practice then you just plain don't deserve to transfer until the next window...
I used the transfer portal. Transferred from the Navy to the Air Force.

Hell no. If they get pissed off because they're benched late in the 3rd quarter of the fifth game of the season, let them enter the transfer portal and pursue another opportunity, LMAO!

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

FT: Here's a little perspective on the 18-22 year old/kids stuff:
58,267 names are on the Vietnam Wall
39,996 were 22 years old or younger.
Just a little something for all of us to think about from time to time.
