LOL...”poor hide that take a good tanning”...where do you come up with this stuff. I’m with you, not in a tree yet. I do wish Franklin hadn’t started all that chatter about being elite, PSU pretty far away from that.
How does the O' Line get better, better players or better coaching? I don't know but I do know and have said before, there are no big nasties, as Matt Millen would say, on either line. Hell Menet came on board as the next coming', is blowing anybody up off the line of scrimmage? In the hey days, there was always a lineman or two on both sides of the ball. I think there is a crucial point where the O'line has to step up or there will slide in landing 4-5 star backs. They either gotta get the holes opened or have scheme that puts them in the flats with enough blocking to get the glory yards either way.
I used to say that to my sons and grandsons after a tough wrestling loss. Im not sure where I heard that one.
I'm in the camp that the current offensive philosophy is where the problem lies. This "RPO" scheme just doesn't cut the mustard in my eyes. If it's 4th and inches, get the QB under center - don't tell me "Oh, we don't do that in a RPO offense". Do what is required to be successful. I have read that blocking techniques are much more difficult in this scheme - not knowing to run block or pass block until the QB makes his read ... BS is what I call it. There is no way to tell me you can't implement "I" formation plays, or QB under center plays, or whatever. Do it all, do what is necessary to be successful.
The RPO sucks and needs to be scrapped! When you have a stud RB that can break one at any time but the QB gets nearly as many or more runs per game and isn't producing something is wrong.
