Matt Campbell’s Nittany Lions take the field for the first time in the battle of the “We Ares” with Marshall.

I have not been this excited for a season in some time. Yes, even more than last season, because this year, at least for Game 1, I won’t be able to predict what will happen in nearly every situation. That alone is exciting.

I hope we see some deep shots downfield, good wide receiver play and a solid run game, all backed up by a defense that dominates. I want to see the line pushing people around in the trenches.

Yes, I know it’s only Marshall, but we have also seen previous Penn State teams fail to show their dominance against far inferior opponents.

The truth is, I’m not sure what we have just yet, and that’s what makes this so intriguing.
