Let's face it, after that come behind win against Purdue - and I can't speak for anyone else here - I didn't have Penn State going to the CFP this season. In my mind, I had them possibly losing 3 or 4 games. And not because they were not very good, BECAUSE they were young and about to be BECOME good! Too many young players that just needed time to play together and understand the concept of Big10 football, Power 5 football vs high school! To end up with 2 losses is a little better than I expected and quite honestly, I think we have to give the coaches some credit here. They did a very good job and especially keeping the players focused after THAT Ohio State loss. And Clifford? No way would Penn State be playing in the Rose Bowl if Clifford bailed and Allar was the starting QB this year. I personally think Allar is going to be a WAY BETTER QB next season by playing behind Cliff, seeing what he did good and understanding the mistakes that hurt him.
A win over Utah is NOT going to define Penn State's 2023-2024 season! They have a very talented team returning with probably the biggest duel threat RB's in the country and a defense that just might be one of the best in the country! By the time September rolls around, that is another 10 months for Allar, taking first string snaps at practice and another year of maturity.....this kid is going to do some great things!
Penn State has out scored their last 4 opponents 165-40, with a shut out and only giving up 10 points on average per game while averaging 41 points per game themselves. Their only 2 losses are to two teams that are both in the playoffs. Watch out Ute's!!! Penn State is bring next years most likely CFP team to the Rose Bowl for glimpse of more to come!!!
I am telling you all, Penn State woke up after that Ohio State loss and they are playing very well! And I don't care who they beat the last 4 games! To lose that Ohio State game, come right back out and take care of business putting yourself in the Rose Bowl is what makes a FUTURE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM!! They were playing blindly for a NY6 game and it takes a lot of will power to play for something that may or may not happen!
